This document specifies design and material requirements for Class B2 sour hydrocarbon and caustic piping rated for 150# flanges. The piping will operate between -20°F and 400°F and 200-285 PSIG. Materials include HIC resistant carbon steel with 0.125" corrosion allowance. NOTES:

1. For branch connections see Branch Reinforcement Table, Section 4.0.

2. XXS Nipples TBE to be used with Flanged Orifice Set and are to be seal welded at the
flange.

3. Buried Piping to be externally coated & wrapped in Acc. with Waha Oil Co. Painting,
Coating & Wrapping Manual.

4. 100% radiography is required on all pressure containing welds.

5. Stress relief is required on all welds, including attachments such as shoes.

6. Class 6000# F.S. socket weld fittings are required on all piping in vibrating or cyclic
service.

7. The hardness of any piping component shall not exceed the requirements of
NACE MR-0175 (latest edition).

8. Carbon steel to be used in sour service shall be tested in accordance with


NACE TM-02-84 for HIC resistance.

9. Bolting shall be tightened using a torque wrench. Impact tightening is not permitted.
