PROCEDURE FOR GETTING AGRICULTURAL SERVICE CONNECTION

Agricultural service connections are effected every year based on the


target given by the Government and based on the application registration
seniority.
The applicant should apply as per the format enclosed. The following
documents should be attached along with the application.
1. Ownership Certificate issued by Village Administrative Officer (VAO). The
VAO should certify that the land and the well owned by the applicant.
(Note: If the registering authority justifies the additional document for the
ownership, the same has to be produced.)
2. If the application is made jointly by all the owners/legal heirs of the well
then all should sign in the application form. Otherwise consent letter is to
be obtained from other Co-owner(s)/legal heir(s) of the well. If consent
letter is not possible to obtain, then indemnity bond to be enclosed.
3. If the land is not contiguous, then NOC/route permit to be enclosed.
4. For getting agricultural service connection minimum of 0.5 acres extent of
irrigated land is required.
5. If No Objection Certificate from Government Department is required then
the same has to be enclosed.
6. The filled up application form along with above mentioned documents
should be submitted either through online or to the concerned Executive
Engineer/Operation and Maintenance Office of the jurisdiction. For
registering the application amount (Rs.100/-+18% GST) has to be paid.
After registering the application an acknowledgement mentioning the
registration number and date of registration will be given to the applicant.
A. Free agricultural service connection is being given to the following
categories and the Board is bearing entire estimate cost.

i. Normal :-
Before opting to any category, the application should be first registered under
Normal category. Anyone can apply in this case.
ii. 350 nos special priority category:
Every year, 350 Nos. agricultural services are given on priority to Widows,
Physically Challenged, Ex.servicemen, Serving soldier, Paramilitary, Ex-
Paramilitary, Scheduled Tribes and Inter caste Married people under special
priority scheme.
To get supply under this scheme, the applications along with relevant
documents should be submitted to the concerned Superintending Engineer/EDC
except Ex-Serviceman and Serving soldier category.
The applications of Ex.serviceman and Serving soldier category should be
submitted at Additional Director, Ex.Serviceman Welfare Department, No.22,
Raja Muthiah Salai, Chennai.6.
The application will be considered only after the completion of one year
from the date of registration under Normal category at Executive Engineer/O&M
office.
Those who already availed the agricultural service connection under any
category are not eligible to apply in this scheme.

iii. Supply will be effected on priority to sitting MP’s/MLA’s for the land owned
by them only one time in their life time.

B. Under TAHDCO scheme supply will be effected to SC/ST women


beneficiaries based on the list furnished by TAHDCO/Government of Tamil Nadu
and on payment of amount by TAHDCO. In the Fast Track supply scheme, supply
will be effected on priority to Adi Dravidars based on the list furnished by
TAHDCO/Government of Tamil Nadu and on payment of amount by TAHDCO. To
avail the service connections under TAHDCO scheme, the applicants are
requested to approach concerned TAHDCO District Managers.
C. Revised Self Financing Schemes (RSFS)
For this scheme, after applying under Normal category, the applicant has
to opt under this scheme by paying advance estimate cost of Rs. 500/- The
following schemes are available.

i. Rs.25,000/- RSFS Scheme


ii.Rs.50,000/- RSFS Scheme
Under Rs.10,000/- RSFS Scheme, the applications registered under Normal
category will be released from the oldest pending applications and after getting
willingness from the applicant and by paying advance estimate cost of Rs. 500/-
the applicants case will be considered.
For all the above schemes, the applicant has to pay the scheme cost
(Rs.10,000/-, Rs.25,000/- & Rs.50,000/-) if the estimate cost is less than
Rs.50,000/-. Otherwise, the applicant should pay the entire estimate cost.
D. Further to avail supply immediately Fast Track (Tatkal) SFS scheme has
been introduced from 2017 onwards.
a) Fast Track (Tatkal) Self financing scheme is an optional and purely on

the willingness of the registered applicants. It does not affect the regular

waiting seniority of the applicants.

b) All the agriculture applications registered under normal category for the

load up to 15 HP will be considered for this scheme and collect the

scheme cost as detailed below:

Load upto 5 HP - Rs.2.50 Lakhs

Above 5 to 7.5 HP - Rs.2.75 Lakhs

Above 7.5 to 10 HP - Rs.3.00 Lakhs

Above 10 HP to 15 HP - Rs.4.00 Lakhs.
