This document describes an exploratory data analysis of Airbnb listing data in NYC for 2019. The analysis finds that Manhattan has the most listings at around 15,000, followed closely by Brooklyn, while Staten Island has the fewest. INTRODUCTION
Since 2008, guests and hosts have used Airbnb
to expand on traveling possibilities and present
more unique, personalized way of experiencing
the world.
This project describes the listing activity and
metrics in NYC, NY for 2019.
DATA RESOURCES

This public dataset is part of Airbnb, and the original source can be found on

WHAT IS THE DATA ABOUT?

This data file includes all needed information


to find out more about hosts, geographical
availability, necessary metrics to make
decisions and draw conclusions.

What can we learn about different hosts and areas?

How to preprocess this data to draw a conclusions.

Which hosts are the busiest and why?

Manhattan and Brooklyn are the area
that have the highest number of

While the Staten Island is the area with

category which consists of 3 categories:
cheap, medium, expensive

Pricing is based on the average AirBnb


accommodation price in New York,
which is $150

CONCLUSION
There are twenty thousand accomodation with low
price categories under $150 in New York

The Manhattan area has the most number of


accommodations in New York at around 15.000
accommodations. Followed by the Brooklyn area with a
number that is not much different, about 14.000
accommodations, and Staten Island being the area with
the least number of accommodations.

Types of houses and apartments dominate AirBnb


accommodation types in New York, there are about
17.000 accommodation. Followed by a private room at
15.000 and also the least shared room.
