Learning Objectives At the end of the session, the participants will be able to:
1. discuss the use of System Recovery
2. differentiate System Recovery using the “One Key Recovery” and using the “Recovery Disks”
3. perform System Recovery on the DCP Package if needed
4. perform basic troubleshooting and solve problems encountered by most DCP packages

Key Understanding/s System Recovery is used to Restore a Computer to its original factory Software configuration.
System Recovery should be done because:
 The system (OS) has crashed
 The unit does not boot properly
 The unit is infected with a virus (malware) that cannot be removed by an Anti-Virus software
There are two types of System Recovery:
 One Key Recovery
 Using Recovery Disks
Troubleshooting and solving common problems encountered by DCP Batch 7 & 14, 17-18 and 19-
23a and other batches

Most Technician can relate to this procedure as
they consider reformatting as the last resort.

The main difference of System Recovery to

Reformatting, is that we are not going to erase
everything from the unit’s HDD and install a new
OS but we are merely “resetting” it to its default
configuration, since the OS of most DCP packages
is different from the OS we that we usually have in
IT consumer products such as our laptops and
desktops at home.

In this session, participants will be trained on the

procedure of System Recovery and also how to
solve the problems commonly encountered by DCP
Packages

Closure One of the Main Functions of an ICT Coordinator is 5 minutes
to ensure that the DCP (E-classroom) is functional.
If the E-classroom is not functional, or not being
used or maximized its capabilities, features, then
our purpose is already defeated.

It is very essential to equip ICT coordinators with the

required knowledge and skills in order to
troubleshoot and solve any problem encountered in
the DCP (E-classroom), thereby maintaining and
keeping the units of the DCP functional so that this
