FRENCH POLYNESIA with its islands is too vast to can talk in short here about all.

I
have been on Tahiti, Moorea, Huahine, Raiateia and Bora Bora islands. Stunning views,
amazing landscapes (Tahiti with its high number of waterfalls - don't forget to take on
each island a tour both on water and on land for discovering the beauties of these
paradise). You will visit pearl farms, vanilla farms, you’ll have occasion for some
snorkeling to the wonderful coral gardens (mostly around Tahaa island), If you are in
Raiateia, don't forget to book L'excursion bleue with Bruno Fabre - he is also the owner
of a lovely guesthouse, called Les Trois Cascades. In Bora Bora take land and sea tours,
admire the splendid colors of the lagoon and have your picnic on a small private motu.
On Huahine island (I can't tell you which island is the most beautiful, as all are, and
each has something specific) so on Huahine take a sea tour around the island(actually
there are 2 Huahine Nui and Huahine Iti) with Huahine Nautique - a very good company
making such full day-tours - if your guide will be Armando, he'll cook on the motu, for
lunch an excellent poisson cru salad - I love this raw fish salad marinated with lemon
and coconut - don't' miss it while in Polynesia. If you are after pearls, go to the Wan
Pearl Museum in Papeete, on Tahiti. Also, while in Tahiti, don't miss a trip to Tetiaroa
bird Island but boat - ask around at the port in Tahiti. It is worth, for seeing all kind of
birds nesting on this deserted island, plus the super-soft sand. On Tahiti stay at Relais
Fenua guesthouse, on Huahine at Arriitere Guesthouse (it is managed by a Chinese-
Polynesian but cheap, clean and the man will help you in arranging excellent tours - try
to take the tour of Paul Attalah - a very documented guide on Huahine. On Raiateia stay
at the guesthouse of Bruna Fabre, Les Trois Cascades, you'll get occasion to easy book
with him his famous Blue Excursion, also take an island tour with Trucky Tours - as the
island hides amazing ancient sites (Marae Taputapuatea for example). On Bora Bora,
don't waste a lot of money for those over water bungalows if you are on buget. Go to
Bora Bora Fishing Lodge guesthouse, where Daniel and Loana will make boat tours
with you, bringing you to a private motu for lunch, as well as arranging an island tour.
On Moorea don't miss the exceptional Tiki Village show, a masterpiece of traditional
dance and music, as well as an occasion to get introduced into the local life. The show is
accompanied by a dinner and if like me, you are on Tahiti, just take the afternoon ferry,
book one night there and return next day with the last ferry to Tahiti. The island has
stunning landscapes with the awful views of mountains and bays. There are many things
to say about Polynesia, I have been 24 days there with 2 overnights in Narita / Japan.
Even if more expensive than the usual route via Paris , Los Angeles - traveling through
Japan will allow you , even if only for 2 days, to get an inside view into the culture of
this country.
