Lux Inspirat
Light that Inspires
PROCESSIONAL
A student nurse ascends to a far higher level in his quest of a quality nursing education, where
respect is accorded and responsibility is strongly demanded, as a burning candle is lit, a cap is vested,
and a pin is attached. The road of becoming a nurse is protracted, difficult, and occasionally rocky.
Nursing major can be a very emotional experience all around. Together, they laugh, they weep, and
they tell each other stories. However, they are aware that the nursing profession is exactly what they
were supposed to do in the end. These students will have the chance to significantly improve the lives
of those who are under their care.
To finally kick off our program, let us all acknowledge the presence of our honorable guest
speakers, college President, board of trustees, Administrators, Clinical Instructors, Faculty, Parents and

She is most well-known for her nursing work during the Crimean War and for helping to improve the
hygienic conditions at military field hospitals. The fact that this remarkable woman loved mathematics,
particularly statistics, and how this love influenced her life’s work is less well recognized.
Everyone, let us all witness, the entrance of The Lady with the Lamp, Florence Nightingale.
The capping, pinning, and candle-lighting ceremony, a college of nursing milestone, marks the passage
of nursing students from the classroom environment to the hospital setting. It proves that the student is
capable of passing all the tests and requirements and can carry out their duties in the clinical setting
competently.
For the most awaited moment of our dear students, let us now witness the 18 th Capping and Pinning
Ceremonies. May I request COLLEGE OFFICIALS AND CLINICAL INSTRUCTORS to please
take your place for the imposition and pinning of pins, thank you!
May I call Ms. Ma. Dana Mae A. Sta Ana for the Nightingale’s Pledge and Prof Maryjean Masinda for
the Nurse’s prayer followed by the Batch Song.
X. Nurses Prayer
Okay! Now, to give the closing remarks, may I request our Program Head, Dr. Marissa S.
Tolentino to please come up on stage. Let us give her a round of applause!
: Thank you Dr. Habijan for that inspirational message. To continue, to give another inspiring
message may I call on here the father of our beloved Marikina City, Hon. Marcy Teodoro, let us
give him a round of applause.
: Thank you, Mayor Marcy, for that inspirational message. To continue, to give another inspiring
message may I call on here our beloved Congresswoman, Hon. Marjorie Ann A. Teodoro, let us
give him a round of applause.
(Cong. Maan)
XIV. Recessional
As Florence Nightingale walk towards the hallway of the fort. Holding the lamp that gives light to the
injured soldiers during the Crimean war. That light that continues to give light despite the darkness that
slowly swallows their hope to survive.
At this point, we would like to thank and again acknowledge the presence of those people who made
this ceremony possible, Dean Jacqueline Calaycay, Ms. Marissa S. Tolentino, Prof. Vilma Cordova,
Ms. Dana Mae A. Sta. Ana, Prof. Mary Jean Cynthia Masinda, Dr. Elsa V. Castro, President Erico
Habijan, Congresswoman Maan Teodoro and Mayor Marcy. Thank you very much! Also thank you to
the committees led by Prof. Erald Nepomuceno and Julieta A. Non who works really hard to achieve
the success of this event. Thank you very much!
We know, you student nurses, and future of this cruel world, we know that we can also give light and
become light to others. In time when they loss hope, we will be their hopes. When their knees are
bended because of pain, we are here to lift them up and be their feet. When they are blinded with life,
we will be their eyes and help them see beauty beyond it.
Once again, thank you everyone for gracing our ceremony with your presence and have a nice
day.
