Instruction: Read the passage and complete the sentences that follow.
British people are generally quite reserved and they do not show their emotions
openly. This does not mean that they are unfriendly. They are private people who
respect others. They believe that it is important not to interfere in others' beliefs or
business. Manners are very important. For example, it is considered rude to be late
for a meeting or to jump a queue in a shop or a bank. It is also considered impolite to
talk with your mouth full of food or to put your elbows on the table when you are
eating.
When you meet someone you do not know, you should shake hands with
the person and introduce yourself. British people don't usually kiss one another in
public unless they are good friends or members of the same family.
