4. (a) 12 sausages have a mass of 1.5kg. What is the mass of 16 sausages?


(b) Six people can dig a trench in 8 hours. How many people would it take to dig the
trench in 3 hours.
(c) Eight jars of jam cost $22. How much do 5 jars cost?

5. Expand the following:


(a) (2p – 3)(p + 8)
(b) (3x – 3)(3x + 3)

6. Find the formula for the nth term of the sequence 4, 7, 10, 13, 16, ...
7. Find the size of each of the angles in the given right triangle by constructing an equation
and solving it to find the value of x.
