Colonial Advertisement Project
The time is 1735 and you are in London England. A population explosion in England has left little available
space throughout the country. The people are running the risk of starving because they are unable to grow
and import enough food. There is plenty of room in the 13 American colonies, but with little information
available, people are hesitant to move there. The King has asked YOU to create an advertisement of some
sort about your colony, in hopes of attracting more people to move there.
Political System:
1. Was your colony a charter, royal, or proprietary colony?
2. Who was the leader or founder?
3. How did the government work in your colony?
4. What is some early history or laws of your colony?
Economic System:
1. What ways did people in your colony make a living?
2. What products were made in your colony?
3. What were the main natural resources of your colony?
4. Was your colony dependent on indentured servitude and/or slavery?
Culture/Religion:
1. Was there an official religion in your colony?
2. Were colonists free to practice any religion in your colony?
3. Are there any significant characteristics about your colony that should be known?
4. What role did religion play, if any, in your colony?
Famous People:
