Calculation Pressure Drop by Alarm Valve

The document compares 4 options for calculating pump head pressure for a fire sprinkler system. Option 1 uses a formula and resistance values from a Vietnamese standard. Option 2 uses a different author's formula and resistance values. Options 3 and 4 use specified pressure drops from Viking brand valve catalogues. An example calculation is shown for a 150A alarm check valve with 6500 L/min flow. Option 1 gives the highest friction loss at 42.9m. Option 2 gives 10.1m loss. Options 3 and 4 specify 9m and 6m losses respectively. The estimation department chooses Option 2 as it provides an acceptable friction loss without difficulties in valve selection.

1- Use Option 1, Total friction loss is too big (but follow VN

Standard)
2- Use Option 3 & 4 (follow catalouge) Total friction loss
can be smaller, but many type of Alarm Check Valve, so
difficult to choose for Calculation.
3- Use Option 2, Total friction loss isn’t too big, same
Option 3,4. Now Estimation Department follow this Option.
