Activity 1.4. Story making (Creativity, Critical-Thinking, Character)

Due to the modular distance learning, I am so stressed. This times of pandemic, I can’t even go out in my
HOUSE. I am so stressed that I’m afraid it may lead to depression. I was always in my room, it’s so cold
and the silence were like the FOREST. You can’t hear anything but the blow of the wind, chirping birds
and waterfalls.

I can’t go out. The DOOR is locked and the WINDOW is closed. I imagine if there was no pandemic maybe
I was in the CANTEEN full of people that are laughing, shouting, running around and eating their own
food. I imagine the library that’s full of BOOKS. I was even more stressed thanks to my unending
imagination.

Then I looked at my GUITAR. My father bought when I was just 10 years old. I never bothered using it
because I have no idea how to play it. Day by day of practicing, I was learning and it became my hobby
now. It was rather a life savior since it relieves me from stress and loneliness in my bedroom. The guitar
was my light in the world full of darkness.

WHAT I CAN DO

Essay

What solutions will you suggest for Adolescents to overcome these challenges?

As Adolescence begin to play its role in one’s life, a pre-requisite for the next stage, one would likely
experience a variety of adolescent changes. These changes in many aspects is not something one should
be ashamed of since everyone will go through this experience as we grow older to the person we’re
becoming. Even though there is no exception in going through this phase and everyone is expected or
bound to experience this, we come across with the stage of being new to this matter which one cannot
be helped but feel challenged by the adolescent changes.

Physical changes are the changes most of us are ashamed of because it is quite obvious to the eyes of
others and overlooking to people’s idea of perfection. For instance, occurrence of pimples and acne in
this stage is unavoidable for numerous people which is extremely noticeable to others. Due to this, one
tends to feel insecure on how he/she looks that will probably lessen the confidence and self-esteem in
meeting with peers. However, we should look at it outside the box as those outbreaks would indicate a
bad lifestyle which implies that one should change routine and become better in general. One should
also learn to live with one’s flaws and imperfections, love and respect oneself and be contented of the
creator’s masterpiece.

In regards to behavioral changes, as we continue to grow and mature, we often face several problems
that would alter a person’s behavior either in a positive or negative way such as emotional breakdowns
and physical abuse which leads to changes in one’s acts and behaviors. For example, a person is being
ungrateful and greedy that might affect the people’s image of you and see you as nothing but a brat. I
have to remind that people should never judge the person based on what they’re seeing or what they
have heard because we don’t know what that ungrateful and greedy had gone through maybe he was a
generous person in the past but the circumstances made him like that. I would suggest that we should
observe our nature and analyze and evaluate our behavior whether we are doing good or badly.

In terms of emotional changes, as we become older, we are likely to encounter multiple scenarios of
sufferings and pain and stressful events in our life. But, we are not easily defeated by these since we are
striving to do better every single day. With that in mind, people might suffer depression that greatly
affects how a person feels and think. Even if you’re in the verge of giving up or thinking of ending your so
called endless sufferings, try not to as you can seek help from people around you or even professionals
who are knowledgeable to help you cope with your emotions. Manage yourself to be patient and
understanding at all times. Never give up in the field of battle because depression is not a sign of
weakness instead it means you have been strong for far too long.
