Q7. Refer Fig. 7. Obtain the current at t>0, if AC voltage v is applied when the switch K is
moved to from 1 at t=0. Assume a steady state current of 1 A in the RL circuit when the switch
was at position 1. [Ans: i = 1.4e-1000t + 1.345sin(314t-0.304)]

Q8. A series RC circuit has R=20 ohm and C=100 uF. A voltage v = 200sin(314t) is applied at
t=2.14 ms. Obtain an expression for i. Also, find the value of current after time 1 ms from the
switching instant. [Ans: i = 0.93e-500t + 5.32sin(314t + 1.682) A, 5.414 A]
Q9. Refer Fig. 9. The parallel RLC circuit where R=0.1 ohm, L=0.5 H and C is 1 F. Capacitor

Q10. Refer Fig. 10. With switch open, steady state is reached with v = 100sin(314t) V. The
switch is closed at t=0. The circuit is allowed to come to steady state again. Determine the
steady state current and complete solution of transient current. [Ans. iss = 0.0176cos(314t) (at
t>0), i = 17.6cos(314t) - 0.6cos(1.37x103t) + 13.7sin(1.37x103t) mA.]
