BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN CRIMINOLOGY

Effective AY 2018 – 2019

I. Program Description
The Bachelor of Science in Criminology program is related to the fields of
criminology is the study of crime and the various agencies of justice as they operate
and react to crime, criminals and victims. It is therefore the mission of the
Criminology program to provide the community with professionally competent and
morally upright graduates who can deliver efficient and effective services in crime
prevention, crime detection and investigation, law enforcement, public safety,
custody and rehabilitation of offenders, criminological research, among others.

II. Institutional Outcomes: The graduate of Saint John Bosco College of Northern
Luzon, Inc. should be able to:
1. Develop research, specifically in, but not limited to, science and technology;
2. Demonstrate lifelong competency on various fields of expertise and
specialization through pro-active and innovative methods;
3. Demonstrate intellect, propagate Filipino culture and promote international
understanding through intercultural and international education;
4. Show an increasingly higher order of moral and cultural values;
5. Provide scientific, technological and professional training programs that are
responsive to the needs of the Region and relevant to an achieving society;
6. Employ extension and other related programs and/or services for the general
welfare of the people;
7. Demonstrate excellence in academic instruction, research and extension
services; and
8. Apply the knowledge, skills, and abilities developed through quality technical
and general education to activities in personal life, career and citizenship.

III. Program Outcomes: A graduate of Bachelor of Science in Criminology should be able


to:
A. Identify issues and potential solutions regarding discrimination and diversity in
all areas of criminal justice.
B. Apply various methods, theories, policies, practices and laws associated with
criminal behaviour to manage such deviant activities.
C. Demonstrate competence and broad understanding in law enforcement
administration, public safety and criminal justice system developed through
quality technical and general education.
D. Execute skills in criminal investigation.

E. Demonstrate the values of leadership, integrity, accountability and responsibility
while serving fellowmen, community and the country.
F.Adapt to, and work professionally in a multi-cultural and global environment that
upholds law enforcement administration, public safety and criminal justice.
