E-SUMMER COURSE
Business Innovation Management
(BIM)
Business Innovation and Management (BIM) 2022 is a summer course
hosted by the School of Business IPB University Indonesia. BIM is a
collaborative program between IPB University, University Utara Malaysia,
Putra Business School, Hiroshima University, Tokyo University of Agriculture,
University of Glasgow, Kirirom Institute Technology of Cambodia, and
Warsaw University of Life Sciences. National and international lecturers will
deliver the program. The summer course will be held online on August 1-9,
2022.

Concept: A Virtual Summer Course
We expect each participant to dedicate 8 hours per day during the whole

The e-summer course will be delivered using Open Courseware (OCW) IPB University,
Zoom video meeting, and other supporting tools. There are two assignment activities that
must be followed by all students along with the e-summer course program, consisting of
Quiz/ Self-Assessment and Project Assignments. Minimum attendance for students is no
less than 80% in online lecture sessions for the synchronous option and must be complete all
tasks for the asynchronous option. If a student cannot attend the online lecture session,
please inform the lecturer assistant on the related topic directly.
Quiz / Self-Assessment
All students must take a quiz after an online lecture session. The quiz will be provided at the
end of the class until the next day before the beginning of the class. The quiz is provided in
the OCW platform (https://ocw.ipb.ac.id). Each student gets twice attempt of the quiz every
day. The final score will be the highest score you get. You will receive your OCW account
from the committee. Please make sure your OCW account is working before starting the e-
summer course program.
Project Assignment
The Project Assignment is the final exam of the e-summer course of Business Innovation
and Management (BIM). Students will get a challenge to write a scientific paper. Each
project must discuss related to the course topics in the summer course (11 topics). In
synchronous option, The Project assignment is an integrated activity of the final exam of the
e-summer course and the International Competition. All papers project will present in 3
minutes and will be assessed by the lecturer related to the topic. In asynchronous, students
also must create scientific papers as the final exam individually and will be presented
through self- video recording. At the end of the program, selected papers will be included in
International Conference of BIEC.

Rules of Competition
1. International Competition is one of the series of Summer Course Business Innovation
and Management (BIM) 2022 activities.
2. Participants are groups who participated in the activities of Summer Course Business
Innovation and Management (BIM) in synchronous option, consisting of 4-5 multi-
strata students (Undergraduate & Graduate students).
3. The groups can choose one topic related to the topics of interest during the summer
course and article writing can use a literature review approach.
4. Paper topics are associated with the big theme: Business Innovation and Management
5. The Scope/topic of the paper discussed is related to (1) Business Engineering; (2)
Environmental & Sustainable Practices; and (3) Multidisciplinary.
6. Summer course lecture material can be used as enrichment in making articles.
7. Competition in articles/paper presentation which will be presented in the form of 3
Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition.
8. Presentation in the 3MT Competition is recommended by group representatives,
represented by masters or doctoral students (If possible)
9. Project assignment (paper) is MANDATORY for each participant to be submitted
before The session of 3MT Competition
10. The Full Paper competition format must follow the author guidelines
11. The Full Paper is group work and free from plagiarism and never been published in any
media

1. Student awards are given to all students who participate in the full-time
activities of BIM Summer Course for the synchronous option
2. Students must be involved in completing assignments satisfactorily and
actively involved in discussions in lecture sessions
3. The assessment is given by the assessment committee during the summer
course activities
4. Students who get awards will be given based on the level of study
