    The graph above represents the level of proficiency for Grade 7


    learners. As can be gleaned from the data, there were no learners who
    garnered a failing grade with numerical range of 60-74 across learning
    areas.

    Moreover, Mathematics has the highest number of students who


    garnered 75-80 grade range, with a total of 41 students out of the total 52
    class size. This then prompted the undersigned’s initiative to conduct a one-
    on-one interview cum reading level assessment as to the subject/ learning
    area most and least liked, which apparently Mathematics turned out to be
    on top of the least liked.

    Furthermore, Araling Panlipunan and Filipino subjects, which are


    taught in tagalog, have garnered no 75-80 grade range, collaborated by the
    fact that G7 students prefer tagalog language compared to English as they
    can better understand the former. Likewise, students are more inclined to
    submit their outputs/written tasks from these two aforementioned subjects
    as they find it easy to accomplished within the grading period.

    In summary, the Grade 7 students have yet to fully grasp the modular
    distance learning in the secondary schools particularly for the Grade 7,
    considering the level of academic progress that they have accomplished in so
    far as their G6 grades are concerned. A lot of coaching and mentoring is yet
    to be developed in order to help these struggling learners.
