ABSTRACT
India is an agriculture based country. Agriculture could be a supply of support of majority Indians and
encompasses a nice impact on the economy of the country. In dry areas or just in case of inadequate downfall,
irrigation becomes tough. So, it has to be machine-controlled for correct yield and handled remotely for farmer
safety. This will be a catalyst for the transition from traditional farming to modern farming increasing energy
costs and decreasing water supplies point out the need for better water management.
Smart Irrigation System could be a complicated method process to see once and the way a lot of water to use to
a growing crop to satisfy specific management objectives. So, economical water management plays a crucial
role within the irrigated agricultural cropping systems. an occasional price different answer for economical
water management presently in use is drip irrigation systems that comprises an automatic management to show
on & off the control values, that successively helps the farmers by managing the facility to the crop fields and
any maintains the wetness levels of soil that helps in higher crop. This Embedded project is to style associate

I. INTRODUCTION
Smart Agriculture developing model may be a real time observation system. It monitors the soil properties like
temperature, humidity, soil wetness, PH etc. By victimisation the thought of a contemporary irrigation system a
farmer will save water up to 51%. this idea depends on 2 irrigation strategies like overhead sprinklers, flood
kind feeding systems
It is attainable to manage several operations of the sector remotely from anyplace, anytime by IOT.
Overcoming these drawbacks new techniques are adopted within the irrigation techniques, through that little
amounts of water applies to the components of the basis zone of a plant. The plant soil wetness stress is
prevented by providing a needed quantity of water resources oft or typically daily by that the wetness condition
of the soil can retain a well diagram. the normal techniques like mechanical device or surface irrigation needs
uses nearly 1/2 water sources. Even a lot of precise amounts of water may be provided for plants.
The dry rows between plants can result in continuous federations throughout the irrigation method. Fertilizers
may be applied through this sort of system, and also the price needed for will cut back. The erosion of soil and
wind is far reduced by the recent techniques compared with overhead mechanical device systems. The soil
characteristics can outline the shape of the dripping nature within the root zone of a plant that receives wetness.
It offers a art movement approach of life within which a personal gets to manage his electronic devices
employing a smartphone, it conjointly offers AN economical use of energy. It applied altogether areas of
business, as well as sensible agriculture, sensible parking, sensible building environmental observation,
attention transportation and plenty of a lot of.

II. METHODOLOGY
Irrigation of plants is sometimes a awfully long activity, to be tired an inexpensive quantity of your time, it
needs an oversized quantity of human resources. these days some systems use technology to scale back the
amount or staff or the time needed to water the plants. The projected aim is to provide water once the farm is
dry while not human presence and avoiding water wastage within the irrigation method. conjointly monitor the
soil parameters like temperature, wetness and soil wet level.

value and economical system. It includes NodeMCU, Arduino Nano, sensors like soil wet and Dht11, coil
valves, relay.
1) NodeMCU: NodeMCU is Associate in Nursing open supply IoT platform. It includes microcode that runs
on the ESP8266 Wi-Fi SoC from communicatory Systems, and hardware that is predicated on the ESP-12
module. The term "NodeMCU" by default refers to the microcode instead of the dev kits. The microcode uses
the Lua scripting language. The programming code is being written for ESP8266 Wi-Fi chip mistreatment
Arduino IDE, that installation of ESP8266 library is needed. we have a tendency to designed to form operating
with this chip super simple and a great deal of fun. we have a tendency to took a licensed module with Associate
in Nursing aboard antenna, and many of pins, and soldered it onto our designed escape PCBs. whereas this chip
has been very talked-about, it’s conjointly been terribly tough to use. Most of the low-priced modules.

2) Arduino Nano: The Arduino Nano could be a little, complete, and breadboard-friendly board supported the
ATmega328 or ATmega168. it's additional or less a similar practicality of the Arduino Duemilanove, however
during a completely different package. the facility Down mode saves the register contents, however freezes the
generator, disabling all different chip functions till subsequent interrupt or hardware reset.

Fig-1: Arduino Nano

It has a large vary of applications and could be a major microcontroller board due to its little size and
suppleness. So, currently let's have a glance at its basic features:
It has twenty two input/output pins in total.
14 of those pins square measure digital pins.
Arduino Nano has eight analogue pins. It has six PWM pins among the digital pins.

IV. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

In irrigation project the motor may be controlled simply supported temperature, wetness and wetness Level. The
soil wetness level is measured by the all the sensors. Then all values square measure being regenerate to digital
kind and from their it's applied to Arduino Nano.
However, if there's a case wherever the soil wetness level is attenuated to a definite level, motor Switches on
mechanically with none human effort. We use just one motor for 2 totally different sort of farming. The flow of
water is controlled by coil valve during which it directly measures the amount of wetness of soil.
For this sort of farming 2 wetness sensors square measure used, they're directly connected to microcontrollers
and send wetness levels ceaselessly. We have 2 modes during this system, automatic and manual. In automatic
the motor will management mechanically supported device information. In manual mode the motors may be
simply controlled by us.

V. CONCLUSION
The main concept of this irrigation project are for farmers and the consumer who don’t have adequate amount of
time for watering of plants and crops. This project is highly beneficial for the farmers who face scarcity of
water.
