A. Narrative Experience. Make a detailed journal on how you did the task assigned to you?
When sir Ghelo discuss about our task in NSTP I was little bit scared because I don’t know how to
do a lesson plan and I’m not good also in English, but I know that I can do this. March 20, 2022, I asked my
cousin if she wants to be my tutee and that’s not new to us because last vacation, I tutor her, and she said yes
after that I fix all the requirements that I needed specially the letter consent and my tutee’s information. It was
Friday (April 1) I was at work then I received a message from my groupmates that the pretest was uploaded in
google classroom. It’s been 9:00 pm when I got home, I open my google classroom app and thankfully my
tutee was not yet sleep and I chatted the girl in our compound to print the pre assessment so that any time my
tutee will be able to answer her examination. And that day I went in her room, and I asked her if she wants to
take the pre assessment then she said yes and that same day the pre assessment was took by my tutee. We
went to a place that’s no noise so that my tutee will concentrate in answering her pretest. Before I give the
examination, I asked her if she have any idea about fractions and she said yes but she don’t how to play with
it. During answering her exam I’ve noticed that a lot of items in her exam that she doesn’t have any idea
specially adding fraction with different denominator so that I guide her by translating the questions in easy
way. It’s hard seeing your tutee answering her exam that she really doesn’t know. She got 22/40 which is
equivalent to 55% I’ve noticed that she doesn’t know on how to add dissimilar fractions and on how to take
the lowest term of a fraction. On the same day I explained to her after she take the examination on how to add
dissimilar fractions and subtract dissimilar fractions and I’ve noticed also that she doesn’t know on how to
multiply fractions and I told her that I will discuss to her that. After she answered the examination, I discuss
her answers and I discuss those items that she doesn’t know, and I said to her that its not matter if she gets a
lower score because that’s only a pretest to test her capability and to test her where far she knows. After that I
congratulate her for getting at least 50% score. April 1, 2022, the day I received the notification from google
classroom that the pre assessment was uploaded and that day I was working as a bar tender in our family
business milk tea shop. I was tired because I was working a whole day and its 9:00 pm when got home and
after that I fix all the requirements that I needed specially the printed pre assessment and after that I went in
our grandfather house to check if my tutee is still awake so that we can start to take the pre assessment. Before
we start in answering the pre assessment we have first a short conversation with her and I asked her if she’s
okay and if she’s doing good and if she wants to take the exam even though its too late and she said yes, and I
ready all the papers and scratch papers that she needed and after that she take the exam. I realized that its
matter if you did wrong the matter is you did something to make it right.

B. Problems Encountered and Solutions Made.

The problem that I encountered is that my tutee doesn’t have enough idea about fraction, or should
I say the topic that was given to her and I remember those days that I’m at her stage now I know how hard is
that answering questions without enough knowledge about it and the thing that I did is I gave her a motivation
to answer the questions and as long as she did her best as long as she answer the questions with whole honesty
I’m proud of her. One of the problems that I encountered is lack of time because I don’t have time from
9:00am-8:00 pm because I’m working but I did was time management, even though I’m so tired from work I
still choose to finish my unfinished work in NSTP and I still choose to share my knowledge to my tutee
because do believe that time is really import, the tiredness will pass but the time will never back. When I was
an elementary student one of problem is having lack of confidence because we don’t have enough experiences
to be confident and I think my tutee that’s also her weakness is having lack of confidence so I did was I
delivered an inspirational message so that she will have a little bit confident to answer her pre assessment. I
did was I looked back my experiences when I was in elementary, and I see myself to her so that its easy for
me to handle in that kind of situation. I believe that there is no work will be hard if you love your work so that
love your job be your passion as your profession so that your job will be easy. I remember when I gave the
test paper in my tutee, I’ve noticed that she really doesn’t know clearly what’s she trying to answer what I did
was I teach her first the basic properties or on how to use the four basic operations in mathematics in fraction I
just give her a recap so that the exam will be fresh for her. It’s been two years when the pandemic came and
modular learning it’s hard, I experience being modular learner and I would say that it’s hard because you’re
just answering it without any knowledge will earn. I understand her if some of the questions are hard for her
because being modular learner for two consecutive years is hard because not all knowledge that you need to
know you’ll be learn, I did was I give her a recap or refresher to refresh the topic so that she will have at least
a little bit idea. Other problem that I encountered when I give the examination to my tutee is that she’s not
focusing on her examination she’s focusing on other things and the thing that I did was explaining how
important knowledge about that to have because I believe that Mathematics is very useful. We can use
mathematics in our daily lives, and I believe that person who doesn’t have any knowledge in mathematics was
ignorant for other people’s perspective. When I was in elementary I was afraid to make mistakes but when I
get older I have to make mistakes or should I say it’s normal if you did mistakes because I believe that
mistakes are the who give you knowledge and lesson so that you will do it again and with that experiences I
used that to share my experiences to my tutee so that she will able to answer her exam Even though we’ve
experiencing a lot of challenges or problems in life we find solution to solve it, having problems in life is like
an equation in mathematics you don’t need to stare the equation you need to make a solution to solve it, in life
its not easy facing problems because we have different attitude, feelings and we have different ways on how
we handle problems but the most important thing is that we find solutions and we have the willingness to
solve it.

C. Reflection.
1. What have you learned in doing your task?

I’ve learned that even how hard the situation is we must find a better way to make it easy. In my
case I have a lot of problems that I faced but the good thing is I do not give up and choose to fight for my
dreams. I realized that you should follow your dreams and don’t lose hope, you need to believe yourself
because believing yourself is one of the most important recipes to success. I’ve learned that being teacher is
not easy there’s a lot of challenges and circumstances that you need to solve but one thing that I admire is that
the way they use their passion as their profession because I believe that if you love your job your job will easy
for you and also I realized that mathematics can be easy if we have a good mathematics teacher, to guide
students on how they handle it and I want to be someone like them whose willing to guide my future students.
As a future educator all I want is to make my class interesting unlike in other math class its boring. I realized
that as a student we should focus on our dreams and to achieve those dreams we must prepare ourselves and
equip ourselves and keep learning, keep on growing, keep on taking risk, but at the end of the day our
dreams are our own, and no matter how criticize you or put you down, you must empower yourself first before
empowering others. Those lessons that I’ve learned I can use that to give inspiration to others.

2. How can you use this learning in the future?

I can use this learning as my guide to a better future, I’ve experienced a lot of challenges and
circumstances in this task, and I believe that I can use that to be a better teacher someday. I realized that as a
teacher we must be more considerate to our students because even we have the same society but always
remember that we have different surroundings. As a future educator, I can use this learning someday to be a
better, understandable, and caring teacher someday the way that we must know first what’s the real story
before we make an action. I can use those learnings through giving inspiration to others by telling my
experiences so that they will have confident in doing their task, and to those students who’s afraid to did
something wrong always remember it’s not matter if you did wrong the matter is you did something to make it
right. As a future educator I can use my platform to encourage my future students to be confident and I tell
them that in this world no one is ugly the real problem is we are living in a judgmental society, so you need to
be confident in every action that you need to do, and you need to be confident to make it beautiful.
