I. INTRODUCTION
Hello, boys and girls! You will study the art of drawing in
this lesson. You love to draw, don’t you? To be able to draw

What is Art?
Art is all around. Many people create them. Look at the things around you.
They have shapes and colors. People made them they are all works of
art.
Artists use lines, shapes, colors and texture in making a work of art.

ELEMENTS OF ART
The basic elements of art are lines, colors, and textures. They are used
when an artist makes drawing. An artist needs to learn the proper application of these
elements in order to make a good drawing or illustration.
Lines are like moving dots. Lines have many uses in creating artworks.

COLORS
WHAT IS COLOR
When you look at red, do you feel war or cold? Do you feel
happy or sad? Do you feel excited or do you feel sleepy?
RED
BLUE
YELLOW
You will find that different colors can make a painting seem
peaceful, lonely, angry or happy.

The three basic colors in arts are red, yellow, and blue.
These are called primary colors.
If you will combine two of these primary colors, another
color would come from them. The result is called a secondary
color. The result is called secondary color.
