COURSE INTRODUCTION
This course is specially designed to introduce trainees to the duties and responsibilities of a Fire Fighting Team & Fire Warden, and
to obtain the necessary skills of fire safety, prevention and risk assessment. This course provides awareness of the danger of fire,
guidance in the use of extinguishers and how to carry out the fire routine procedures. The training also help employers develop
emergency response plans that will meet the specific needs of their businesses. This program trains ERT members to handle
various emergencies by developing Emergency Response Plan (ERP), understanding Emergency Procedure and executing
Incident Command System (ICS) during disaster.
OBJECTIVE OF THE COURSE

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:
Understand different types of fire extinguisher
Demonstrate the use of the fire extinguisher promptly
Demonstrate the ability to manage small fire, safely and effectively
Plan and prepare effective emergency plans
Develop the hierarchy of commands
Understand Evacuation & Emergency response procedures
Lead and contribute directly in the event of emergency

For all employees up to supervisory level who would be required to assist in the event of fire emergency

Physically and mentally fit
Experience in fire safety is an added advantage and is highly recommended
CERTIFICATION & VALIDITY

Having completed and passed the course, participants will be awarded with Certificate of Training. Without
retraining, knowledge might be forgotten while skills may deteriorate rapidly when not being used / practiced.
Therefore, yearly retraining is very much recommended.

RECOGNIZING FIRE HAZARDS IN WORKPLACE

Fire safety training starts with identifying and knowledge on basic properties of fire. Items that ignites the fire, or
contribute to major breakout of fire in workplace will be identified in the training. To prevent a fire breakout is to

How to activate the fire alarm so the building occupants can escape
To leave the area immediately, closing all doors behind them
Where designated muster areas are located outside the building
What to do if they encounter heat or smoke upon exiting
How to fight a small fire with a portable extinguisher
