CCHS Community Update Sep19-2022
In full transparency, we would like to make you aware of a situation that occurred last Friday
afternoon.
Although the individual did not make a direct or imminent threat, either on campus or off,
to the other school or to anyone associated with the other school, the comments were
enough for the other school to contact local authorities and file a report.
We have confirmed that the individual did stop by the high school while students were out for
summer break. His behavior at the time was non-threatening. His request for a tour did not raise
concerns because our campus has had a number of facility additions and renovations since this
individual graduated.
At NO time last week was this person on, near, or approaching the Central Catholic campus,
nor did the individual make any reference to going to Central Catholic in the immediate future
to act upon his threats/comments.
Immediately after this information was received, the CCHS administration contacted the San
Antonio Police Department and made a separate police report against this individual. Based on
their investigation, SAPD took the individual into custody that night.
We can not stress enough that our students, teachers, staff, and community were under no threat
at any time.
Central Catholic Leadership and our Board of Directors are committed to the safety of our entire
community. We continue to enhance our existing visitor protocols and ID verification system to
monitor who is on our campus throughout the day. In addition, we increased our perimeter
fencing and gate systems over the summer, while also adding to our existing camera
system. Also, as part of our plan, we will be adding uniformed officers on campus for the
foreseeable future.
Security is a top priority for our school. Our planned enhancements will add to the safety and
security of your sons and our staff and community. I am grateful for the prompt and professional

communication from our fellow high school, the immediate response from SAPD, and all school
administration that were part of the discussions.
Most importantly, I am grateful for you and the trust you place in us for your son’s education,
spiritual growth, and safety. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at any
time.
