Router functions
Four-way routing The PXG3... BACnet router transmits BACnet protocol between a BACnet/IPv4
network, a BACnet/IPv6 network, a BACnet/LonTalk network (PXG3.L only), and a
BACnet MS/TP channel. BACnet objects are simultaneously transmitted thoughout
any and all networks.
Web server The BACnet router includes a Device Object and can be operated by a BACnet
Client. Present operating state, date and time as well as statistics on sent
packages can be viewed via web server.
MS/TP Slave Proxy The BACnet router can serve as a Slave Proxy for slaves that are connected to its
MSTP port. In other words, it responds to Who-Is messages on the slaves’ behalf
by sending an I-Am message.
SNMP v2 Simple Network Management protocol MIB-2, for monitoring and diagnosing the
BACnet router network interface.
BACnet NAT Supports setup of a BACnet network over a NAT device. Additionally, remote
access from a public network to BACnet devices is possible on a private network.
Important: the public IP address must be static.
For security reasons we recommend using VPN tunneling with BACnet NAT.
For details see standard 135-2012 Annex J.
BACnet/IP to BACnet/IP When routing between BACnet/IP and BACnet/IP on one IP network, the BACnet
router address must be the same on both BACnet networks. The difference is that
different BACnet UDP ports are used on the BACnet network.
2 / 10
• The router complies with ANSI/ASHRAE 135-2012 Annex J and ISO 16484-5.
• A 2-port Ethernet switch allows low-cost cabling via line topology. This is the
preferred commissioning medium.
• The LONW ORKS network is connected via a 2-pin connection terminal.
• The MS/TP channel is connected via RS485 or a 3-pin connection terminal.
• An RJ45 plug on the device front allows connecting to a PXM20 operator unit
(PXG3.L only).
• A USB port is available for connecting the tool.

Engineering
Identification
Each device has a unique serial number to ensure efficient commissioning. It is provided on
the adhesive barcode label. The serial number can be read directly into the engineering tool
using a barcode reader.
Wiring
Wiring must be sufficiently insulated to the available rated voltage. Sizing and fusing of the
wiring depends on the connected load.
Triac outputs AC 24 V
Individual Triac outputs may have a max. load of 6 VA (heating up the device). The following
possibilities are permitted:
● Multiple motorized actuators with a total of max. 6 VA.
● 1 thermal actuator with 6 VA start load in a cold state, controlled using the algorithm
PWM 0...100%.
● 2 thermal actuators with 6 VA start load each in a cold state, controlled using the
algorithm PWM 5...50%.
For transformer design (voltage drop off), each thermal actuator must be counted at the full
start load, since the Triac outputs can be freely controlled.
The heating sequence and cooling sequence are not normally active at the same time
(Exception: Downdraft compensation).
The sum total of the base load, bus power, field supply, and Triacs may not exceed 72 VA
(DXR2.E..) or 70 VA (DXR2.M..). Power consumption is 96 VA with pulse width modulation.
See Section Power data.
For the DXR2.. 24 V variant, the high side switch Triacs (closed the contact at AC 24 V) are
used. As a result, the VAV compact controllers GDB181.1E/3 or GLB181.1E/3 can only be
set to operating mode "con" via 0...10 V.
DC 0…10 V outputs
The DC 0…10 V outputs supply max. 1 mA.
Digital inputs
Digital inputs are not suitable for operating lighting or blinds. Use the KNK PL-Link
pushbutton.

· The devices are designed for wall-mounting (A). A conduit box is optional.
- Conduit box: Keep in mind the dimensions of the conduit box!
- Cable conduits on the wall: Keep a distance of 30 mm (from above) /
20 mm (from below) to the base plate (B), so that the device (C) can be
snapped onto the base plate.
· The base plate (B) has screw holes for all common flush-mount boxes.
The screw head height must not exceed 3 mm.
· The device (C) incorporates a KNX / PL-Link plug, a tool plug, and, depending
on the type, sensor element, keys, LCD panel, window for the label.
The cable can be pushed into channels on the rear.
· A KNX plug is enclosed with the devices
The optional metal-reinforced base plate QMX3.MP1 (B1) serves for two purposes:
· It is more rigid so that it does not bend when fixed in the middle with two screws
only (directly over a conduit box or a cavity wall box).
· It has a removable gray foam plate (B2) for mounting on a 68 mm diameter
cavity wall box. The plate compensates for the jutting edge of the box (see
mounting, page 5).

Prerequisite for commissioning (KNX PL-Link)
The room automation station must be running and an application must be loaded.
Load application on the The application is not loaded on the room operator unit, but the room automation
room automation station.
station Download of the application is done using the SSA-DNT (Pack & Go) or the ABT.
For this purpose (or for service), connect the ABT to the room automation station
(USB or Ethernet).
All commissioning work is done via the room automation station, using the SSA-
DNT or the ABT.
The ABT is never connected directly to a room operator unit.
When more than one QXM3.P... room operator unit is on the same trunk of the
KNX PL-Link bus, manual commissioning is done as follows:
1. Connect the SSA-DNT or the ABT to the room automation station and activate
the online commissioning function.
2. Load the web page "KNX PL-Link identification".
Activate the identification function.
The room automation station now waits for a signal from the room operator
unit.
Addressing 3. On the room operator unit, simultaneously press the upper left and bottom
right button for at least 5 seconds (keys 1 and 8).
4. The "Engineering" page is displayed.
5. Press "Prog. Mode" (Key 2).
The display changes from "DISA" to "EnAB".
The tool identifies the current room operator unit that is operated and assigns
it.
6. After the device is commissioned, reset the device to programming mode to
“disabled” by pressing key 2.
Note: Programming mode resets to “disabled” each time the device restarts.
Connection test 1. Press "Conn. Test" (key 3) to test the KNX PL-Link connection.
The display shows the result of the connection test:
Reset to factory setting Press "Fact. Reset" (Key 4). The device is locked and reboots within 10 seconds.
The room automation station deletes it from its device list. During this time, it is
safe to remove the device from the network.
If the bus plug remains connected, the device acts like a newly inserted device
requiring again automated or manual configuration.
Note! This operation resets all user preference data and
configuration settings to factory default.
This operation is irreversible.

The Build number and the version number of the device are
displayed.
2
The Individual Address (IA) is downloaded to the device via
KNX PL-Link.
This step is skipped if the device is already configured.
Note: The configuration file can be downloaded any time; as a
result, these characters are displayed every time the room
automation station initializes download.
3a
After startup, the device goes to normal operation
(example view; picture depends on application in room
automation station).
3b
When configuration is faulty, "UCFG" is displayed, along with
the temperature that is measured by the local temperature
sensor.
In this case, manual commissioning must be performed (see
above).

Transformer sizing
The transformer power can be calculated by adding together the power consumption of
all the connected devices. For valves, a figure of 1.5 times the nominal power of the
valve should be used. In the case of valves connected in a sequence where only one
valve (heating or cooling) can be open at any given time, only the larger valve need be
included in the calculation. Where it is possible for several valves to be open at the
same time, the nominal power of all connected valves must be added together.
Example 1 controller 4 VA
1 valve actuator (heating) 2 VA – VA
1 valve actuator (cooling) ( x 1.5) 8.5 VA 13 VA
Total 17 VA
The SEM.. is for indoor use and must have all terminations well-protected by plastic
cover or in a panel/enclosure.

2/4
When using several transformers in one system, the connection terminals G0 must be
galvanically connected. There must be a minimum of 8mm distance from terminations
to panel/enclosures in order to avoid electric shock. The on/off switch is for secondary
power supply only. Under no circumstances should the front cover of SEM.. be
removed.
Disposal
The device is considered electrical and electronic equipment for disposal in terms
of the applicable European Directive and may not be disposed of as domestic

Equipment combinations
All systems and devices capable of acquiring and handling the sensor’s DC 0...10 V ,
4...20 mA or LG-Ni 1000 output signal.
When using the sensors for minimum or maximum selection, for averageing, or to cal-
culate enthalpy, enthalpy difference, absolute humidity, and dewpoint, we recommend
to use the SEZ220 signal converter (see Data Sheet N5146).
Function
Relative humidity The sensor acquires the relative humidity in the air duct via its capacitive humidity
sensing element whose electrical capacitance changes as a function of the relative
humidity.
The electronic measuring circuit converts the sensor’s signal to a continuous
DC 0...10 V or 4…20 mA signal, which corresponds to 0...100 % r. h.
Temperature The sensor acquires the temperature in the air duct via its sensing element whose elec-
trical resistance changes as a function of the temperature.
Depending on the type of sensor this change in resistance is converted either to an
active DC 0…10 V or 4…20 mA output signal corresponding to a temperature range of
0… 50 °C, –35…+35 °C, or -40...+70 °C. The measuring range can be selected. The
temperature is provided as a simulated passive LG-Ni 1000-output signal
( –35…50 °C) as an alternative to the active output signal.
Simulated passive The measuring current of systems/devices for acquiring the electrical resistance of the
output signal passive sensor differs greatly and impacts self-heating of the temperature sensing ele-
ment at the end of the measuring tip. To compensate the impact, the passive output
signal is simulated with an electronic circuit.

Mechanical design
The duct sensor consists of a housing, a printed circuit board, connection terminals, a
mounting flange and an immersion rod having a measuring tip.
The 2-sectional housing comprises a base and a removable cover (snap-on design).
The measuring circuit and the setting element are located on the printed circuit board
inside the cover, the connection terminals on the base.
The sensing elements are located at the end of the measuring tip and protected by a
filter cap.
Cable entry is made via the screwed cable gland M16 supplied with the sensor.
Immersion rod and housing are made of plastic and are rigidly connected.
The sensor is fitted with the mounting flange supplied with the sensor. The flange is to
be placed over the immersion rod and then secured in accordance with the required
immersion length.
Setting element
The setting element is located inside the cover. It comprises 6 pins and a jumper. It is
used to select the required measuring range and to activate the test function.
3/10
Accessories
Engineering notes
A transformer for safety extra low-voltage (SELV) with separate windings for 100 %
duty is required to power the sensor. When sizing and protecting the transformer, local
safety regulations must be complied with.
When sizing the transformer, the power consumption of the duct sensor must be taken
into consideration.
For correct wiring, refer to the Data Sheets of the devices with which the sensor is
used.
The permissible cable lengths must be considered.
Cable routing and It must be considered for routing of cables that the longer the cables run side by side
cable selection and the smaller the distance between them, the greater electrical interference. Shielded
cables must be used in environments with EMC problems.
Twisted pair cables are required for the secondary supply lines and the signal lines.
Note to QFM2171 Terminals G1(+) and I1(-) of the humidity output must always be connected to power,
even if only terminals G2(+) and I2(-) of the temperature output are used!
4/10
Location Mount the sensor in the center of the duct wall. If used together with steam humidifiers,
the minimum distance after the humidifier must be 3 m to max 10 m.
Fit the sensor in the extract air duct if the application involves dew point shifting.
Fit only the flange to the duct wall. The sensor is then inserted through the flange and
engaged.
Caution! · To ensure degree of protection IP54, fit the sensor with the cable entry pointing
downward.
· The sensing elements inside the measuring tip are sensitive to impact. Avoid any
impact on mounting.
Mounting instructions The mounting instructions are printed on the inside of the package of the device.
Chemical vapors It is of great importance to understand that a humidity sensor is a sensitive measure
device and needs to be handled with care. Chemical vapors at high concentration in
combination with long exposure times may offset the sensor reading.
Commissioning notes
Check wiring before switching on power. The temperature measuring range must be
selected on the sensor, if required.
Wiring and the output signals can be checked by making use of the test function (refer
to "Mechanical design").
To ensure the accuracy of the temperature measurement of the QFM2120 the test
function has to be activated and on the controller side the values have to be adjusted.
We recommend not to use voltmeters or ohmmeters directly at the sensing element. In
the case of the simulated passive output signals, measurements with commercially
available meters cannot be made (measuring current too small).
Disposal
The device is considered electrical and electronic equipment for disposal in terms of the
applicable European Directive and may not be disposed of as domestic garbage.
· Dispose of the device through channels provided for this purpose.
· Comply with all local and currently applicable laws and regulations.

Application
The differential pressure sensor acquires differential, over and under pressure of air and
nonaggressive gases if a high degree of measuring accuracy and quality is required.
It is also suited for measuring volume flow via differential pressure since the output
signal can be set to extracting-the-root.
Fields of application
• Measuring the slightest differential pressures in ventilation and air conditioning ducts
• Check air flows
• Monitor filters and control fans
• Pressure supervision in labs, production, and clean rooms
• For acquiring variable air flow in VAV plants on the supply and extract air side

Relevant for application using extracting-the-root characteristic
When ordering a differential pressure sensor, please specify the quantity, type, and
product name.
The differential pressure sensor is supplied with 2-meter plastic tubing. Additional
accessories may be ordered separately.
2/10
Additional sets of air duct probes are available depending on measuring requirements.
Various mounting brackets are also available depending on installation location.
Mode of operation
The sensor acquires the differential pressure using a silicon rubber membrane and
ceramic bar. Depending on the type of sensor, the sensor generates a linear or extract-
ing-the-root signal DC 0...10 V with the QBM3020-.. or 4…20 mA with the QBM3120-..
which is calibrated and compensated for temperature.
The individual adjustment of the pressure measurement range for extracting-the-root
sensors is done by means of a potentiometer.

The transformer used must be suited for safety extra low voltage (SELV) when using an
AC power supply. It must have separate windings and be designed for 100 % duty.
Transformer size and fuse must comply with local safety regulations.
Observe maximum permissible cable lengths.
If cable lengths exceed 50 meters and run parallel to the mains cables: Use shielded
cables!
The differential pressure sensor is suited for direct mounting on air ducts, walls, ceil-
ings, or in control panels.
The supplied 2 meter plastic tubing can be modified to the duct connection on the plant.
To achieve the housing protective class indicated under "Technical data", the differen-
tial pressure sensors must be mounted with the pressure nipple facing down. In addi-
tion, they should be higher than the air duct probes.
Caution If the pressure connection nipples point upward or are at a lower level than the
air duct probes, condensation can collect inside the sensor, causing damage to
the device.
Note The pressure tubing for the sensor nipples are connected as follows to the differential
pressure sensors:
Caution • Power supply by SELV or class 2 power supply with limited output of 15 W or less
(UL requirement)
• Use only copper wiring
5/10
Caution The values indicated under "Technical data" apply only to vertically mounted differential
pressure sensors (connection nipples pointing down).
Sensor calibration Value deviations are possible for horizontal mounting (housing cover on top or bottom).
These deviations can be compensated for by using the zero-point adjustment. See
"Zero-point adjustment" below.

Technical and mechanical design
The illustrations below show the basic design of the valves. Constructional
features, such as the shape of plugs, may differ.
For use with all actuators Use with electro-hydraulic actuators only
2-port valves The VVF43..K valves use a pressure-compensated plug. This enables the same
pressure compensated type of actuators to be used for the control of volumetric flow at higher differential
pressures.

Engineering notes
Mounting location Preferably mount the valves at the return, as the temperature is lower there and
the strain on the stem sealing gland is lower.
Dirt trap Mount a dirt filter or dirt trap before the valve to ensure proper functioning, and a
long service life of the valve. Remove dirt, welding beads, etc. from the valves and
pipes.
Cavitation Cavitation can be avoided by limiting the pressure differential across the valve
depending on the medium temperature and the prepressure.

Commissioning notes
The valve may be put into operation only if actuator and valve are correctly
assembled.
Note Ensure that actuator stem and valve stem are rigidly connected in all positions.
Maintenance notes
Warranty
Application-related technical data are guaranteed only when the valves are used in
connection with the Siemens actuators listed under ”Equipment combinations”,

Opening the The hydraulic pump [6] forces oil from the suction chamber [3] to the
valve pressure chamber [8], thereby moving the pressure cylinder [2] downwards.
The valve stem [11] retracts and the valve opens. Simultaneously, the return
spring [4] is compressed.
Closing the Activating the solenoid valve [5] allows the oil in the pressure chamber to
valve flow back into the suction chamber. The compressed return spring moves
the pressure cylinder upwards. The valve stem extends and the valve
closes.

open the valve but cannot move to the 0 % stroke position of the valve. To
retain the manually set position, switch off the power supply or disconnect
the positioning signals Y and Z. The crank remains swung out and in the
display window the red indicator dial remains visible.
Hinweis: When setting the controller to manual operation for a longer
period of time, we recommend adjusting the actuator with the
manual adjuster to the desired position. This guarantees that
the actuator remains in this position for that period of time.
Attention: Do not forget to switch back to automatic operation
after the controller is set back to automatic control.

operation The pressure cylinder moves upwards to the 0% stroke position of the valve.
mode In the display window, the read scale disappears. Afterwards, swing the
crank closed.
Minimal The actuator can be manually adjusted to a stroke position > 0%, allowing
volumetric its use in applications requiring a constant minimal volumetric flow.
flow
SKC62.. The actuator is either controlled via terminal Y or override control Z. The
SKC60 positioning signals generate the desired stroke by means of the above
Y positioning described principle of operation, which is transferred to the valve stem:
signal ● Signal Y increasing: Piston extends Valve opens
DC 0...10 V
● Signal Y decreasing: Piston retracts Valve closes
and/or
0...1000 Ω, ● Signal Y constant: Piston and valve stem remain in the
DC 4...20 mA respective position
● Override control Z: See Functions [➙ 8]

SKC62/MO
The Modbus converter is designed for analog control at 0...10 V.
Keep the analog signal setting on the actuator as is (switch 1 to OFF); adjustment not
permitted.
Functions
Spring-return function
The SKC32.61.., SKC82.61.. and SKC62.., which feature a spring-return function,
incorporate a solenoid valve which opens if the control signal or power fails. The return
spring causes the actuator to move to the 0% stroke position and closes the valve.
Calibration
Normal operation:
Actuator moves to the position [3] as indicated by signals
Y or Z.
LED is lit green permanently, positioning feedback U
active, values correspond to the actual positions.
6
Siemens CM1N4566en
Smart Infrastructure 2021-06-07
The LED on the SKC62/MO cable adapter flashes red during the calibration, as the
positioning signal Y and the positioning feedback U do not correspond anymore. This is
interpreted as a blockage and thus indicated as an error.
Flashing green
Faulty stroke calibration Check mounting; restart stroke calibration (by short-circuiting
Lit red calibration slot)
Internal error Replace electronics
Inner valve jammed Troubleshoot, check valve, restart stroke calibration
Flashing red
No power supply Check mains network, check wiring
Dark Electronics faulty Replace electronics
As a general rule, the LED can only assume the states shown above – continuously lit red or
green, flashing red or green, or off/dark.

3-port valves VX.. (control valves for “mixing” and “distribution”)
Third-party valves with strokes between 6...20 mm can be motorized, provided they are
“closed with the de-energized” fail-safe mechanism and provided that the necessary
mechanical coupling is available. For SKC32.. and SKC82.. the Y1 signal must be routed
via an additional, freely adjustable end switch (ASC9.3) to limit the stroke.
We recommend that you contact your local Siemens office for the necessary information.
