How to Install Prisms™ and Ripchord?

Ripchord is a free MIDI plugin, created by Trackbout, needed in order to use Prisms™.
We are not the creators of Ripchord or Scaler 2.

We only make chord presets for them.

1. Please visit www.trackbout.com/ripchord to download Ripchord for FREE and for a


complete guide on how to use Ripchord and all its core functions.
2. Make sure to install Ripchord properly before you install our chord presets.
3. Ripchord is VST3 and only supports DAW’s that support VST3 format.

How to install Ripchord on Windows?

To install Ripchord on Windows, drag the "Ripchord.vst3" file into your system's VST3 folder as
pictured below. If you do not see a folder called "VST3" at that location, you must create the
folder yourself. Some DAWs, such as Ableton, require an additional step of enabling VST3s in
the DAW's preferences.

How to install Ripchord on Mac?

To install Ripchord on a Mac, drag the "Ripchord.vst3" file into your system's VST3 folder as
pictured below. If you do not see a folder called "VST3" at that location, you must create the
folder yourself. If you're a Logic Pro user, drag the file called "Ripchord.component" into your
system's Components folder. Some DAWs, such as Ableton, require an additional step of
enabling VST3s in the DAW's preferences.

Make sure you place the “Ripchord.VST3” in the proper “VST3” folder as MACs have two
separate “Library” folders. One of them may not be the correct location. If the first location
doesn’t work, then you must place it in the hidden “Library” folder on your MAC instead.

• Hold the Option key on your keyboard and click the Go menu at the top of the screen.
With the Go menu open, you'll notice that pressing and releasing Option will display or
hide the library choice in this menu. Select Library from the Go menu (while holding
down Option) to access the hidden folder.

How to get Ripchord to show in my DAW?

FL Studio 20

1. Click Options and select Manage plugins.


2. Click the Folder + icon in the Plugin search paths section, select the location(s)
where your plugin/virtual instrument is installed, and then click OK
• To disable a plugin path, click the checkmark located to the left of it. The
default FL Studio plugin paths cannot be disabled.
3. Click Find Plugins to begin scanning. Once complete, your plugin will now be
available to use.

Ableton Live 10

1. Go to Options, click Preferences.


2. Select Plug-ins, click Browse, and navigate to where you installed your plug-in(s).
• Be sure that Custom and System folders are on and that VST3 is activated.

Logic Pro X

1. Place the AU plugin in the Components folder.


2. Next, relaunch Logic Pro X and search in your in your MIDI FX on Instruments Tracks
and locate Ripchord.

Installing Our Presets into Ripchord?

1. Download Ripchord VST (Free) from https://trackbout.com/ripchord


2. Install into Directories:
• Win: C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3
• Mac: [Macintosh HD]/Library/Audio/Plug-ins/VST3
3. Scan DAW for Ripchord VST
4. Press settings button in Ripchord and click "import preset(s)"
5. Find the download location for “Prisms” folder.
6. Select and load all the presets in the “Chord Banks” folder.
7. Then MIDI route Ripchord to a VST of your choice.

How to install in Logic Pro X?

1. Before anything. Head to www.trackbout.com/ripchord and download Ripchord.


2. Unzip the files you downloaded and place the contents in your corresponding VST3 and
Components (AU) folder or put the “Ripchord.component” file in
• "/Library/Audio/Plug-ins/Components" folder if your using Logic Pro X.

3. Next re-open Logic and navigate to the MIDI FX in your channels.


4. You will now see a new menu that says something like "Trackbout" and within it you will
see Ripchord.
5. After you can now open Ripchord and then you can import our presets, you purchased
using the settings knob on the plugin.

* If it doesn't show up then you must place it in the hidden "Library" MAC folder
instead. and repeat step 1-3 again. *
Frequently Asked Questions:

Can’t find Ripchord?


• Make sure you are on the latest versions of FL Studio, Ableton or Logic. This solves
pretty much every issue one may have with the plugin.

No Sound from Ripchord?


• You’re not on the latest version of your DAW. Please upgrade and try again.

Does Ripchord work in MPC or Maschine?


• Ripchord does not support DAW’s that don’t have VST3 or AU support. Maschine, MPC
Live and Reason do not work currently.

If you need more help, reach out directly to Trackbout, the creators of Ripchord, as they are
more than ready to assist you. They have been able to help a lot of users with getting Ripchord
up and running.

What’s the difference between the Ripchord and Scaler 2 Editions?


The benefit of the Ripchord version is that Ripchord is a free plugin, but it lacks the
complexity, theory and extra features Scaler 2 can provide. However, Scaler 2 is not a
free plugin and users would have to already own Scaler 2 or must buy it.
