Now your English teacher has asked you to write an
essay about pollution caused by humans.

WRITING 1. TOPIC: Environment

RELEVANT 2. ISSUE: Pollution caused by people
INTRO 3. OPINION: A type of pollution

Choose the appropriate introduction and write in the space provided

CHOOSE AN INTRODUCTION AND REWRITE IN SPACE PROVIDED

INTRODUCTION A
Every day, millions of plastic bags are used by shoppers for an hour or
two and then thrown away. The earth could soon be covered in bits of
plastic, covering the countryside and ruining the oceans. I think that this is
wrong and that banning them in shops reduces the amount of rubbish in
CHOOSE the world which is good for everybody.
RELEVANT
INTRODUCTION B
INTRODUCTION
We call this planet where we live Mother Nature for it is the
provider of all the necessities to life. Yet, humans do not treat the
land with the care it deserves, bombarding the environment with all
kinds of pollution at our own convenience or in the name of profit.
One of the types of pollution we have allowed to contaminate the
Earth is plastic pollution.
CHOOSE A CONCLUSION AND REWRITE IN SPACE PROVIDED

CONCLUSION A
To sum up, human-generated plastic waste has contributed to loss of
fauna as well as destruction of their habitats. Hence, I am of the opinion
that all parties should avoid using products made from this material where
CHOOSE possible. Remember, we do not own this planet, but are only safekeeping it
for the next generation.
APPROPRIATE
CONCLUSION CONCLUSION B
In a nutshell, plastic pollution has caused a lot of harm to our
environment. Other than that, there are many other types of
pollution that are destroying our planet. I strongly believe that
humankind should develop technologies to repair the damage that
we have inflicted on Mother Nature due to our own selfishness.
