Functional description and operating instructions

This test unit can be used to control and carry out functional tests on servo and
proportional valves with integral electronics and an operating voltage of ±15V or +24V.

Caution
The test unit may only be used by persons who are familiar with the unit, the valve and the
hydraulic system. When set accordingly, the unit ignores control signals that come from
the system. If safety fea tures are provided on the control side, these are deactivated. We
assume no responsibility for damage caused by misuse!

Voltage supply
The test unit can be supplied with +24V or ±15V, depending on the operating voltage
required by the valve. To this end, the "power selector" switch must be set accordingly
before commissioning. An internal DC/DC converter generates the required auxiliary
voltages of ±15V for the internal command value signal. The "power selector" switch
connects, among other things, the internal reference potential L0 to the mass potential
applied externally.
Switch position +24V → input pin B = reference potential
Switch position ±15V → input pin C = reference potential

position
Power selector Internal reference potential is connected to "ES" - pin B.
(18) +24V Power supply is +24V. The enable signal can be generated
using switch "enable" or switched off (19).
±15V Internal reference potential is connected to "ES" - pin C.
Power supply is ±15V. The enable signal generation
(19) is deactivated.
Enable/Disable Enable Set point switch (17) in Exernal position -> an external
(19) enable signal applied to the valve ("ES" - pin C).
+24V operation Set point switch (17) in Internal position -> enable signal for
only the valve is set.
Disable Enable signal output is connected with reference potential
(0V).
Set point External External command value applied to the valve via pin D and
(17) pin E
Internal Command value from potentiometer (16) is applied to the
valve
Control mode 4-20mA -100%...+100% of the command from potentiometer (16)
(14) corresponds to +4mA...+20mA control signal
±10V -100%...+100% of the command from potentiometer (16)
corresponds to -10V...+10V control signal
±10mA -100%...+100% of the command from potentiometer (16)
corresponds to -10mA...+10mA control signal
Feedback mode mA Feedback signal is current (mA)
(7)
V Feedback signal is voltage (V)

Mode of pin C C – Ref. Pin C is a reference for the feedback value of the valve
(20)
C – En./0 Pin C is unused or used for enable signal

Pilot ON/OFF Pilot ON Activates the pilot valve over connector (2). 24VDC (for
(15) +24V operation) or 30VDC (for ±15V operation) goes from
"ES" – pin A and pin B. Maximal current 1.6A.
Pilot OFF Deactivates the pilot valve (2)
