Assignment #3

Rizal traveled extensively to further his education, gaining knowledge of other cultures that inspired his push for reform in the Philippines. His travels taught him the value of budgeting, exploring new places, and gaining perspective outside his daily life. Rizal believed strongly in education's power to elevate a country and develop its people's minds, removing ignorance as an obstacle to progress. While the author would utilize education to work abroad and support their family, they would contribute to national development if able to earn a living while doing so.

Rizal’s Life and Works

3BAH5A Assignment #3

Question:

What have you learned in Rizal’s travels? How can you use the things that you have learned in

Rizal’s travels to help our country? Would you go abroad to work for your own family or would

you stay in our country (like Rizal) and help in its development?

The travel and adventure of Jose Rizal are an important surface of his education and mission for

the Philippines. Because of his broad knowledge of different cultures he learned from his

journey, it became his inspiration for Reform.

I learned a lot of things when I read about the travels of Rizal. One thing is, A travel budget is a

guide that helps you research and prioritize the places you plan to visit. Rizal was a

budget-conscious traveler who kept a daily record of all his expenses. Sticking to a budget is like

a puzzle that keeps your brain thinking and the creative juices flowing. Bartering, gift

economies, trades, and volunteering are all creative ways to exchange for the basics you need.

Because of this, We’re stretching our cash as far as possible, so we naturally learn the real value

of money. Aside from this, I also learned in Rizal's Travels that traveling is all about exploring

new places, cultures, cuisines, rituals and styles of living. We also travel because distance and

difference are the secret toxicity of learning and creativity which one cannot observe by sitting at

home. Traveling in itself has advantages, as it makes one forget his or her worries, problems,

frustrations and fears. This helps by broadening your horizon to move in new directions,

unplugging from the pulls and pushes of daily life.

Jose Rizal left the Philippines in 1882 to study medicine in Spain. He also visited France to learn

more about how medicine was practiced there. Jose Rizal's travel and adventure are an integral

part of his Philippine education and mission. It became his catalyst for reform due to his

extensive knowledge of different cultures. Jose Rizal visited museums, old buildings and

historical parks to learn about the culture and heritage of every country he traveled to.

Because of his travels, I learned how Rizal gave importance to education. For Rizal, the mission

of education is to elevate the country to the highest seat of glory and to develop the people's

mentality. Since education is the foundation of society and a prerequisite for social progress,

Rizal claimed that only through education could the country be saved from domination.

Education is the social institution through which society provides its members with important

knowledge, including basic facts, job skills, and cultural norms values.

One of the most important benefits of education is that it improves personal lives and helps the

society to run smoothly. By providing education, poverty can be removed and every person can

provide their contribution to developing the country. Moreover, An educated person is more

likely to develop better moral and ethical values as compared to an uneducated person. Lack of

education creates problems like superstition, domestic violence, poor health, and poor living

standards. Education brings equal opportunity for both men and women and educated people will

be able to create a better society. Without a good education, a better society can’t be formed.

Also, Education is an integral part of human society. Its importance in life can’t be ignored as

lack of education gives birth to numerous social problems like poor health, internal conflict, poor

living standards and many more. It helps people to find a better solution to their problems.
Education lets people realize the true value of contribution and help become the backbone of

society. And Lastly, Education is the most powerful weapon which we can use to change the

perspective of the world. An educated person knows how to deal with different types of

problems. Through the right education, a person can develop good moral values. It helps us to

become good human beings.

To be honest, I don't see myself using my knowledge for the greater good of the country. If I'm

being honest, I'll utilize my education to travel overseas and earn money. Because the

opportunities in other countries outweigh those in our own. Not to be selfish, but I need to make

money to meet my own and my family's needs. But, of course, if I am offered the opportunity to

contribute to the improvement of the nation while also earning a living, I will gladly accept it.
