This learning resource hopes to engage the learners into guided and independent
learning activities at their own pace and time. Furthermore, this also aims to help
learners acquire the needed 21st century skills while taking into consideration
their needs and circumstances.
In addition to the material in the main text, you will also see this box in the body of
the module:
As a facilitator, you are expected to orient the learners on how to use this module.
You also need to keep track of the learners' progress while allowing them to
manage their own learning. Furthermore, you are expected to encourage and assist
the learners as they do the tasks included in the module.
Welcome to the Computer Systems Servicing NC-II Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM)
module on Deployment Procedures and Network Testing! The hand is one of the
most symbolized parts of the human body. It is often used to depict skill, action,
and purpose. Through our hands, we may learn, create, and accomplish. Hence,
the hand in this learning resource signifies that you as a learner is capable and
empowered to successfully achieve the relevant competencies and skills at your
own pace and time. Your academic success lies in your own hands!
This module was designed to provide you with fun and meaningful opportunities
for guided and independent learning at your own pace and time. You will be
enabled to process the contents of the learning resource while being an active
learner.
This module has the following parts and corresponding icons:
What I Need to Know This will give you an idea of the skills or
competencies you are expected to learn in
the module.
1. Use the module with care. Do not put unnecessary mark/s on any part of
the module. Use a separate sheet of paper in answering the exercises.
2. Don’t forget to answer What I Know before moving on to the other activities
included in the module.
3. Read the instruction carefully before doing each task.
4. Observe honesty and integrity in doing the tasks and checking your
answers.
5. Finish the task at hand before proceeding to the next.
6. Return this module to your teacher/facilitator once you are through with it.
If you encounter any difficulty in answering the tasks in this module, do not
hesitate to consult your teacher or facilitator. Always bear in mind that you are
not alone.
We hope that through this material, you will experience meaningful learning
and gain deep understanding of the relevant competencies. You can do it!
What I Need to Know
This module was designed and written with you in mind. It is here to help you
master the nature of Computer Systems Servicing NC-II. The scope of this module
permits it to be used in many different learning situations. The language used
recognizes the diverse vocabulary level of students. The lessons are arranged to
follow the standard sequence of the course. But the order in which you read them
can be changed to correspond with the textbook you are now using.
Multiple Choice. This is a pre-test for you in this new module. Select the letter of
the best answer by using a separate sheet of paper. Write the letter of your choice.
If you get 100% in this pretest you can skip this module.

which is the deployment services and network testing. Are you ready?? Let’s go!
What’s New
This activity will help you to understand more about the idea on how the network
operating system processes by creating user access and by sharing files and printer
and also testing procedures. Answer the different given scenarios to analyze how
this works. You will be graded using the rubrics below. You can have the highest
possible scores of 30 for this assessment. Try your best to get 80% in this activity,
this will be the passing rate.
1. The Deployed Printers Setting is also a User Setting, which means it can only be
targeted at users. What will be the requirements for the printers to be networked
and shared out?

1. What is DHCP?
With DHCP, this entire process is automated and managed centrally. The
DHCP server maintains a pool of IP addresses and leases an address to any
DHCP-enabled client when it starts up on the network. Because the IP
addresses are dynamic (leased) rather than static (permanently assigned),
addresses no longer in use are automatically returned to the pool for
reallocation.2

D. Writing a Technical Report on Test Conducted
Technical Report is any document that records the procedure adopted and
results obtained from a scientific or technical activity or investigation. Use the
following format for a technical report for your recently conducted test.
Now that you have learned the installation and deployment of a printer. You are
now to perform deployment procedures for your computer. Follow the instructions
below or you may refer to the above discussion on how to share a printer and its
resources. You also need to complete the table below upon doing each step in the
activity, and answer each process question for each step.

Alright! Good job for fulfilling activity 1 and assessment 1, and as you made this
part, you’re on the right track! Now, this activity will build your knowledge in DHCP
IP Reservation with regards to deployment procedures and policies. You need to
complete the table below upon doing each step in the activity, and answer each
process question for each step.
2. Find the DHCP reservation setting. This could also be called "DHCP Static
Lease" or something similar.
Process Question: On what category will you find this?
3. Head to the computer for which you want to reserve an IP address and
find its MAC address. Once again, you can find this by typing ipconfig into a
Windows Command Prompt, or by going to System Preferences > Network on
a Mac, clicking on your Wi-Fi card or Ethernet port, hitting Advanced, and
going to the Ethernet tab. Your MAC address will be in the form
00:00:00:00:00:00
Process Question: Wi-Fi card and Ethernet port will have two different MAC
addresses, can you assign both the same IP addresses? Why/Why not?
Here is the table that you need to complete.

What have you learned so far? Do you have problems encountered? How did you
come up with a solution?
Now, your task is to perform testing computer network by following all the
guidelines that we had tackled to any facilities that filled with computers such as
computer shops, offices, and faculty room with a number of interconnected
computers. Don’t forget to tell the administrator or owner that you will do this
activity as a requirement in the course. If this is not possible, you can go to your
teacher’s laboratory and ask permission. Attach two pictures in this form as you
are inspecting the units, you can ask another person to take a photo of you. You
will be rated based on the performance indicators below. The highest score that you
get will depend on the criteria in the rubrics and should get at least 80% to pass
the activity. Good luck!!!

What I Have Learned
I have learned things about deployment procedures and testing, operation, and
security check based on ender user requirements and preparing and completing
reports according to enterprise policies and procedures that I can fill out the words
as a generalization of my learning.
One of the most important features of Group Policies in Active Directory domain
environment is the possibility to automatically connect a shared network
_________on a group of computers or users with just a few clicks. Thus, when a
user log in to the Windows, an assigned network printer will automatically appear
in the list of available print devices. To deploy printer connections using Group
Policy, the Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) schema version must be at
least using a ____________.
So here is the procedures of installing and deploying a local printer:
1. Locate and install a printer __________ ( PC 1 SERVER)
a) Click on Start>Computer>Do Not Delete D:>Epson L120>Epson x64
(64bit)
b) Simply follow the on-screen instruction on how to install the printer
c) At this point you must turn _____ the printer
3. Add New Roles (_________ Server and Print & Document Services)-PC1-SERVER
a) Click on Start>Administrative Tools>___________
b) Right click on Roles and select _______ Roles
c) Click on Next and Check DHCP Server and Print & Document
Services and click Next
d) Click on Next several times at least ______ times
e) Click on Add to add new _________
f) Click on Next again for several times and click on Install
Multiple Choice. Choose the letter of the best answer. Write the chosen letter on a
separate sheet of paper.
15. After checking a printer’s physical connectivity and after power cycling it, you
receive an “access denied” message. How would you fix the issue?
a. Verify the correct Internet Protocol (IP) address for the printer
b. Check all the cables for full contact and connectivity
c. Be sure that the printer has paper in at least one of the trays
d. Check for paper jams along the paper path
Additional Activities
Now, your task is to make documentation and technical report on the test
conducted on the following network server faults. Also, add recommendations on
how to resolve the issues below:
1. Printer deployed cannot be seen on the client’s computer
2. The deployment procedure had an error somewhere in DHCP
installation.
You can use the table presented in part D of the discussion page or you can device
your own. You will be rated based on the performance indicators below. The
highest score that you should get will depend on the criteria in the rubrics and
should get at least 80% to pass the activity. Good luck!!!
