Cps 5 Year Strategic Plan May 2020 Public
Introduction
Chorleywood Primary School is an Outstanding school. Our ambition is to ensure that we offer every child
the opportunity to fulfil their potential and to be happy and successful. This plan outlines our strategic
approach to doing this.
The purpose of this strategic plan is to provide an overarching framework, to guide the direction of
continued school improvement, to guide investment (into the physical fabric of the school, resources and
technology of the school and the human capital) and to underpin the detailed operational plans for the
school’s future. This framework has six operational plans that sit underneath it that flesh out how
operational management will deliver on this framework; these include:
1. A strategic curriculum plan
2. A long term human capital plan
3. A long term governance action plan
4. A long term information technology investment plan
5. A long term premises investment repairs and maintenance plan
6. A long term financial plan which will also include alternative income stream strategic planning
7. A communications and partnerships plan
8. An overall wellbeing plan
This plan was produced in consultation with staff, governors, pupils, parents and members of the local
community. In a series of workshops, they identified priorities and areas of focus as well as activities to
support reaching our nine key areas. These suggested activities are collated into one document (available on
request).

Who we are
As a school, we are committed to all our stakeholders. Underpinning this five-year strategy are a series of
pledges we make to pupils, staff and to parents. We used the consultation period to help develop these
1
pledges. They serve as a baseline for us as we move forward as a school, they help us to ensure we keep our
vision of who we are as a school at the centre of all our plans. The governing board of the school will review
our progress against this plan on a regular basis. These pledges, along with the operational plans, that
underpin the strategic plan, will ensure that we are carrying out our strategic aims developed throughout
the consultation process.
Our pledges to pupils
1. We will provide a safe and secure environment for you to thrive
2. We will support and encourage you to reach your full potential, in all spheres of school life, so you
leave ‘world ready’
3. We will equip you with the tools and skills to be resilient and creative to deal with challenges you
may face
4. We will ensure every one of you has a voice and is heard
• Pupils, parents, staff and our community stakeholder feedback confirm that we are delivering on our
pledges to each stakeholder group
• The school delivers a high quality sequential, progressive, broad and balanced curriculum assessed
by expert educational improvement partners
• The school remains graded as outstanding at the next Ofsted Inspection
• The school is offering the highest quality educational provision within its financial means assessed by
looking at financial benchmarking and educational progress and outcome for pupils against similar
settings
Chorleywood Primary School is committed to providing the best possible learning and working environment
for pupil and staff and to deliver the pledges we are making to all of our stakeholders. We will continue to
engage with our stakeholders at relevant stages over the next five years and beyond as we deliver this long-
term plan.
