SCOPE OF WORKS:
Fabrication & Erection Mechanical Testing of Piping the mechanical Construction firm in
the field site fabrication and (CS/LAS/SS/DSS/HASTAOLLY) tanks Piping equipment
and cross country-Pipeline mechanical engineering construction activity associated with
Major Project of hydrocarbon plant power generation water management chemicals and
other Engineering.
DUTIES OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Inspecting the incoming materials of all piping components including valves as per
project specifications and approved Method of statements.
For damages dimensions and corrosions, Ensure that MTC is available and according to
the requirements. Ensure satisfactory identification of materials, proper protection of
pipe, fittings and components. Verify proper size and schedule of pipe, rating of flanges
and o lets, and fittings.
Inspection of prefabrication of piping spools of materials including Carbon Steel, Stainless
steel and other alloy steel per approved Isometric drawings and details at fabrication
shop.
Witnessing Reinforcement pad test and checking Orientation and flush grinding of
Orifice Flange.
Inspect painting works of prefabricated piping spools. Make sure the pipe spools are
properly covered with end caps and safely transported to the site without damage.
Inspect piping just before erection to verify that interior is clear of foreign materials.
Check edge preparation and fit ups to verify that areas to be weld are free of
contaminants and that fit up is within tolerance.
Check flow direction arrows on valves; verify that the properly identified valves are
Installed in accordance with the flow diagram P&ID. Ensure that pipe supports have
been installed properly in accordance with the piping drawing and Support details.
Preparation and review of test package contents to ensure that required NDT, PWHT,
Hardness Test, PMI, Reinforcement Pad Test and Flush Grinding of Orifice Flange welding
has been performed prior to final system Pressure Testing.
Line checking against drawing and P&ID requirements to ensure completeness and
Accuracy of the piping system as per the code and project standards. And to incorporate
the punch list with category "A & B" items.
Verify initiation of field piping and equipment pressure test punch list. Ensure completion
of cat "A" punch list items prior to Pressure test. Verify preparation of Testing package
including piping test record.
Check and assure that all joint are exposed for examination during pressure test. Ensure
that isolation or disconnection of equipment not to be used. Check vents are open when
filling and draining lines.
Witness final pressure tests, including verification that pressure gages have adequate dial
range and are calibrated, Water requirement for testing including ph value and chlorine
content for Stainless Steel piping. Verify that the required test pressure was maintained
for the specified length of time with no leakage.
Confirm repairs, retesting and re-instatement in accordance with specifications. Ensure
Blinds are removed and correct gaskets are installed. Verify that control valve, Internal of
Check Valves, Flow Orifice, instruments and other piping components which removed for
the test are reinstated.
Execution of installation and erection of fabricated spools and clearing of Test packages
for Testing at site. Preparation of pending points, Check list, Punch listing and clearance
of the same.
Witnessing hydro and pneumatic tastings, flushing, chemical cleaning, Air blowing, Leak
testing, Inert gas purging, oil flushing, and final lining up of various systems.
Ensure that the surface to be insulated shall be clean, dry and free from coarse rust and
scale, monitoring the insulation works and ensure that the insulation materials per
specification and thickness per Isometric drawings free of moisture and protected from
rain.
Monitoring cladding works and ensures sheet materials and thickness per specification.
Ensure that the cladding is rigid and fixed in such a manner that it cannot be slide off and
damage.
Participate meeting with client and subcontractor to resolve construction quality issues
Giving spot suggestion on small problems at site and identifying engineering issues,
communicating with construction and engineering department for resolving the same at
earlier stage.
Monitoring QA/QC inspection and documentation of contractor and subcontractor and
ensure that all inspection activities are incorporated with ITP and that can be traced
according to the project requirement.
Conduct and coordinating walk through for each completed piping system and
Verification of closed punch items prior to mechanical completion acceptance.
Witnessing System and Sub system functional test.
WELDING:
Inspection of field activity like fit up, visual, dimensional, co-ordination
and qualifying WPS, PQR, WQT for the entire project.
Co ordination of quality assurance plan and inspection test plan.
Maintaining of quality records such as fit up, welding & NDT reports.
Closely monitoring the welder individual performance. Strictly
implementing the WPS & PQR instructions and maintaining parameters
Reports. Monitoring and controlling the repair percentage of each
welder.
Stage wise inspection before, during and after fabrication.
Visual inspection of fabrication and site welds.
Coordinating with clients / consultants while the inspection is being
carried out and offer any clarifications as required.
Witnessing of activities like PQR, welder's qualification Tests.
Reviewing the applicable instruments for inspection with valid
calibration certificates.
Confirm repairs, re-testing and re-inspection in accordance
with specifications.
Witnessing of Weld repair activities as per client approved WPS.
