Disasters are phenomenal events that causes loss of life, assets, injury, distress to society and

environmental destruction. It is inevitable and no one can predict when it could happen to us. That is
the reason it is very important that as a responsible citizen, we should be knowledgeable enough on
how to carry ourselves before, during and after the disaster to survive and minimize the vulnerability
of the disaster that possibly bringing to us.

Negligence is the big factor of disasters, we, humans are the one who creates the disaster, because
we lack the discipline to ourselves and we fail to assess what could be fruit of our actions in the
coming future. Disaster mirrors the behavior of humans, the environment is jus giving us the result
of our acts. And in the end, we, humans will suffer from our doings.

DRRM is a government agency responsible for securing safety of the society from disaster. They are
the one who gives guidelines to the society how to prepare and to prevent disaster. And as a citizen,
it is our responsibility to comply what the authorities are implementing to secure our safety.

Thinking of how we destroy our nature, it is still not too late to take another path in order to heal
our environment. We still have the time ang chance to change our bad habits that causes disasters.
Maintaining our nature clean ang healthy so that the next generation will not be the one who will
suffer from our negligence today.

Therefore, as a student and a citizen of the Philippines, we should build a strong foundation of our
tomorrow by fulfilling our responsibilities as a part of the community to create a bright future. By
that, in the next generation children will not suffer from our failures today, instead, they live the life
they deserve that is full of joy and security.
