Bridge Software Engineer
Job Descriptions:
The Bridge SE is responsible for bridging between Japanese customers and offshore project teams in
Vietnam and is able to work a short term or long term in Japan. The Bridge SE may work directly with
Japanese customers and is reporting to Business Development Director of Harvey Nash Japan and Japan
ODC Delivery Manager of Harvey Nash Vietnam on all matters related to software projects and has authority
on all software development tasks within his projects. The detail as below:

- Learning the idea of system design, the way of working process as well as project operation of
Japanese customers.
- Transferring the business and quality requirements, detailed functions from the customer to the
Offshoring project team.
- Actively communicating with clients to enhance understanding and cooperation beneficial to the
project team
- Being intensively trained skills of making plan, managing team, communicating, presenting, solving
problems, managing project, and coordinating with HVN processes (project management, quality
assurance and financial processes…)
- Ensuring client requirements are fully understood and specified in a manner that will enable full
understanding from development team. Lead, coordinate and establish requirements definition and
use-case modelling by outlining the system's functionality and delimiting the system; for example,
establishing what actors and use cases exist, and how they interact. The detail as below:
o Gather business and system requirements from client
o Assist client in defining requirements and suggest ideas
o Create SRS (System Requirement Spec), Feature List (if needed), UC list and UC detail,
GBR (General Business Rules) and wire frame for complex UCs (if needed)
o Assist offshore team in knowledge transfer of existing system
o Work with UI for UI design and screen mock up
o Reviewing and providing the appropriate feedback on the final implementation of the user
interface
o Assist PM on project scope, estimation and planning
o Assist PM on requirement sign off process
o Assist PM in managing project change requests
o Acting as the bridge between client and offshore to clarify requirement with development team
(developers, QC, UI designer) both business and system analysis view as well as the bridge
among internal team
o Work with QC to verify that all requirements of the system are fulfilled by the implementation
in the traceability manner among requirements, CR and implementation
o Support UAT in testing, verifying bugs/issues with client
o Review materials (SRS, UC, etc) from other BA
o Conduct BA new hired training

- When needed translate documents from Japanese to English/Vietnamese; interpret


meeting from English/Vietnamese to Japanese and vice versa for the case communicator
cannot handle it.
- Report the development progress to Japanese project management team.
- Responding to requests from Business Development Director of Harvey Nash Japan and Japan ODC
Delivery Manager of Harvey Nash Vietnam in an efficient and timely manner.

Requirements:
- Bachelor degree
- Obtaining IT knowledge-base
- At least 5 years of working experience of which 3 year in analysing requirements
- Strong Japanese skills as frequently communicate with Clients (2-kyu, N2, or above)
- Understand Japanese working attitude.
- Fluent level in Japanese speaking and listening.
- Read and Write Japanese email, and report making.
- Be pro-active. Able to work in a team and individually with minimum supervision.
- Be enthusiastic knowing and learning new technologies, new systems. Technology lover.
- Able to travel and work onsite in Japan if required
- High sense of responsibility at work, respect for the spirit of teamwork.
- Knowledge of testing approaches and techniques
- General understanding and experience of business processes as well as an interest to understand a
broad range of business models and needs
- Specific business domain knowledge is a plus.
- Having experience in development using Java language is a plus
