A Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan in Arts 7

I. Objectives

At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to do the following:
a. Identify the characteristics of Arts and Crafts in Mindoro, Marinduque,
Romblon, and Palawan.
b. Create a woven artwork using paper.
c. Show interest in learning the different arts and crafts in MIMAROPA.

II. Subject Matter/Content


a. Topic: MIMAROPA Arts and Crafts and Festivals
b. Materials: Audio-visual presentation, speaker, powerpoint presentation
c. References: Music and Arts 7 Teacher’s Guide p. 191-194

III. Procedure

Motivation
The teacher will show a video presentation about the arts, crafts,
and festivals of MIMAROPA. She will let the student observe the content of
the video.

A. Activating Prior Knowledge


After watching the video presentation, the teacher will ask the
following questions:
a. What did you observe on the video?
b. What place was seen on the video?
c. What are the different arts and crafts you have seen on the
video?

The teacher will use the answers of the students to link the
questions to the lesson of the day.

B. Acquiring New Knowledge


The teacher will introduce the lesson of the day. She will discuss
the different Arts, Crafts, and Festivals that can be found in Mindoro,
Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan.
Through this, the learners will acquire new knowledge about the
arts of MIMAROPA.
C. Application
The class will play a game. The teacher will provide pictures of
different arts and crafts that can be found in Mindoro, Marinduque,
Romblon, and Palawan. The students will classify the pictures according to
its place of origin.

D. Assessment
The teacher will ask the class a question:
What are the similar characteristics of the arts and crafts coming
from Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan?

IV. Evaluation
Performance Task:
The task will be individual. The students will make a woven artwork
or material using a colored paper or construction paper. The output will be
graded according to the following criteria.

CRITERIA
Creativity 20 points
Uniqueness 20 points
Overall Impact 10 points
Total: 50 points

V. Assignment
Have an advance reading about the Arts, Crafts, and Festivals of Visayas.
Bring the following materials:
1.5L Bottle, scissors, yarn, glue, ruler and pencil.
