A Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan in Music 7

Objectives

At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to do the following:
a. Identify the sounds of the different instruments in Palawan.
b. Distinguish the different instrumental and vocal music of Palawan.
c. Appreciate the uniqueness of the vocal and instrumental music of
Palawan.

II. Subject Matter/Content


a. Topic: Music of Palawan
b. Materials: Powerpoint presentation, laptop, speaker
c. Reference: Music and Arts 7 Teacher’s Guide p. 71-73

III. Procedure

Motivation:
The class will play a game. The teacher will flash a slide containing words
and terms with missing letters. The students should identify and say the
word or the answer.

A. Activating Prior Knowledge


From the activity the teacher will ask the following question:
1. Are you familiar with the words? If yes, where did you hear the
word/s?

B. Acquiring New Knowledge


The teacher will present the lesson with the use of the words that
was found in the game. She will discuss the vocal music of Palawan, as
well as its instrumental music. With the use of audio clips and pictures,
the teacher will show the class the different instruments that can be found
in Palawan.
In this manner, the learners will acquire new knowledge about the
music of Palawan.

C. Application
The teacher will show some videos on how to play the different
instruments of Cordillera. She will let the students observe on how to
properly use and play the instruments.
D. Assessment
The teacher will show pictures of the different instruments and the
learners should identify the name of the instrument.

IV. Evaluation
To evaluate the learnings of the students, the teacher will ask the
following questions:
As we are living in the modern world, what can we do to preserve
and maintain the music of Palawan?

V. Assignment
Have an advance reading about the music of Visayas.
