Hi, I’m Arquelius Kent E. Escartin of Grade 10 – Diamond.

I will be having a speech about the

importance of technology in the new normal education.

Stephen Hawking famously said, “Intelligence is the ability to adapt to change.”. This quote
reminds me of how we adapt to change in our new learning system which is through technology. We are
accustomed to traditional classrooms in face-to-face classes. This sudden change is the only way we can
continue our education. How important is technology in education? the COVID-19 pandemic quickly
demonstrating why online education should be a vital part of teaching and learning. Technology
provided a learning platform for us students and teachers to have a virtual classroom. Computers,
laptops, smartphones and tablets, these devices have become a necessity in today’s age. These are not
merely for fun and leisure anymore as it is now beng heavily used by our education sector. The
importance of technology is now evident more than ever, as students need access to education even
during pandemic. Innovation in education encourages teachers and students to explore, research and
effectively use of all the tools to uncover something new. It involves a different way of looking at
problems and solving them. The thinking process that goes into it will help students develop their
creativity and their problem solving skills. The effective use of digital learning tools in classrooms can
increase student and teacher engagement, help teachers improve their lesson plans, and facilitate
personalized learning. It also helps students build essential 21st-century skills.

I’m gonna talk about how does technology impact student learning? Some educators view
technology as a distraction. But, if used with intention, technology can be transformed from a
distraction to an effective teaching tool. Rather than simply ‘tolerating’ it, educators can utilize the
power of digital devices, apps and tools to increase engagement, encourage collaboration, spark
innovation and enhance student learning. In and of itself, educational technology doesn't result in
effective teaching and learning if there is no guide. It still requires an educator and it does require some
effort to integrate it effectively.

Now, we’re going to tackle about the benefits and challenges of using technology in Education.
Here are some benefits using technology in Education, Personalized learning and teaching approaches.
Each person has their own learning style, some learn better through hearing and some through visuals.
It varies and it’s quite challenging to perform all these in the class. However, with the help of technology
teachers can customize learning for students to, it enables them to create an improved instruction
methods and personalize learning for student. In the long run technology helps us to cut down our costs
and brings more learning opportunities. For instance, our online modules help drive down the cost in
printing our materials. Another one is buying a device for teachers so that they can save time computing
the students’ grades and creating tests although it’s quite expensive for some it can save cutting down
costs in the long run. Having access to devices such as smartphone, laptop, computer and tablet can
help students access to millions of resources that would be benefitial for their studies. On the other
hand, teachers won’t be limited to the school’s provided modules. They can explore on their own, so
they can give the best info to the class.

A lot of distractions for students is a challenge in using tech in learning. Using devices such as
smartphones, computer, tablet and laptop can be helpful, however, students might get easily distracted
because of several social media apps and gaming apps. In my opinion as a student, online classes these
days is a challenge, we are at risk of developing screen fatigue and burnout. I’m also having a hard time
seperating my school tasks from personal duties at home. Online classes also might give an impression
of being free all the time because of being at home and not at school. Setting aside time for schoolwork
and “me” time should be done. An unstable net connection is also a challenge to many and it can hinder
students from fully learning online. Lastly, not all students have access to digital tools, although the
government has taken action to this problem by providing a modular learning, it is still a challenge for
the student because they have to learn by themselves, some student are having hard time self-learning
while others can. Without the help of a teacher and relatives might make them stressed.

As expressed, the importance of technology in the new normal education is now more evident
more than ever since COVID-19 quickly demonstrated why online education should be a vital part of
teaching and learning. For this reason, it also has benefits and challenges with the use of it.

Hello to everyone, I am thrilled to be delivering a speech in front of you all. I realize that everyone here,
including myself, is accustomed to traditional classrooms in which we We used to go to school every day
and see our classmates every day; it was pleasant, but when the pandemic arrived, everything changed;
we were forced to conduct our lessons online. Every student's schoolwork will be completed on a
computer, laptop, or mobile phone. At first, I thought it would be simple because typing essays is much
easier than writing them, but it is not. We must adjust to other types of learning, such as self-learning,
which is difficult. We all know that learning things in face-to-face sessions is vastly different. Because of
the epidemic, we must adjust to this new form of learning, and online learning is the only way for us to
continue learning. Not only are we students struggling to adapt to this new way of learning, but many
teachers are as well, because some are not used to using laptops, computers, or any type of gadget that
can be used to teach students, and not every teacher can afford to buy gadgets that can be used to
teach students. However, online education It also benefits students and teachers since we students may
complete our schoolwork from the comfort of our own homes.
