Cranfield University. Please comment on the applicant's suitability to undertake such studies. Where possible, please try to
cover the following points in your reference:
1. In what capacity you have known the applicant and for how long
2. If the applicant is still studying, the likely result he or she will obtain.
3. The applicant's ability to work alone and in a team.
4. The applicant's general character. Do you consider the subject to be honest, conscientious and discreet?
5. Any particular strengths or weaknesses.
6. How the applicant's achievements compare to those of his/her peers.
7. The applicant's skill in the use of English where English is not his/her first language.
8. Do you know of any factor concerning the applicant which may give cause to his/her fitness for studying or conducting
research on the sensitive work to be questioned? If so, please give details. (Relevant factors are - significant financial
difficulties, abuse of alcohol, or drugs, an extravagant life style or signs of mental or physical illness which may impair
judgement or reliability).
