Module # 16: The Church in the End of Time
Stand for the Truth for the Common Good
Student’s Copy
Grade/Section: Grade 10 – St. Matthew Teacher: Mrs. Marilou D. Masi

INTRODUCTION:

The Biblical Prophecies directed towards 'End Times' are very specific about the nature of the people, places,
and events of which they speak. For that reason, the world becomes a stage on which the manifestation of
prophecy is played out. The players involved, whether cognizant or not of the part they play, are on stage,
playing out the drama daily.

The prophecies are there, and life goes on day after day. The end-time story the prophecies tell is
either happening on today’s stage or they are not.

Finding the truth is a natural process for every human person. Through your intellect and will, you
can search for the truth. You have the innate capacity to examine and apply the truth daily. The search for
truth in your life will require an active examination and reflection on your thoughts, feelings, and actions.
Your search for the truth could be challenged by issues that you experience in your day-to-day interaction
with other people and other factors such as media and technology.

What are your bases for knowing the truth as you face these challenges? How do you know and prove
the real truth? You will deepen your understanding of these issues and challenges as you examine them in
the activities of this module.

Analyze the song and answer the guide question for discussion on pp 235-236 of your book.

The Catholic Church teaches that immediately after death, each person is going to be judged for his or her
eternal destiny; and at that moment of truth, we stand before Jesus waiting for his verdict, and then proceed
at once to heaven, purgatory, or hell. Purgatory in this context, however, is only temporary. The existence of
purgatory will end with the Second Coming where everybody will be finally judged.

What have you done so far to prepare yourself for your own judgment? (5-10 sentences)

Stand for the Truth for the Common Good

Awareness and understanding of issues that challenge the truth require an honest reflection of one’s
thoughts, feelings, and actions.

Searching for the truth in media and technology is a necessary skill to differentiate the truth lies and
fake news or advertisements. Being aware of the impact of media and technology on how they shape and
condition your choices in life is an essential skill.

Searching and seeking for truth can be done through the application of moral principles on issues
confronting the truth in mass media and technology.

There are practical strategies that can enhance and promote truth and honesty in life, such as
identifying and being aware of issues that challenge the truth; setting priorities in life; engaging in an active
examination of one’s thoughts, feelings, and actions, seeking support from other people; and choosing
honesty and integrity.
