Final Demo Norei
Final Demo Norei
I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson the Grade 7 students will be able to:
1. Define heat transfer
2. Describe the methods of heat transfer
3. Relate the heat transfer in daily life situations
Content Standards:
The learners demonstrate an understanding of how heat is transferred.
Learning Competency
The learners infer the conditions necessary for heat transfer to occur.
II. SUBJECT MATTER
a. Topic: Heat Transfer
b. Code: S7LT-IIIh-i-12
c. References:
1. Science 7 SMILE Quarter 1 – Module 1: Heat Transfer
2. Video clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TB_Dlq57OLQ
d. Materials: laptop, TV
e. Science Concept:
Heat transfer occurs between states of matter whenever a temperature
difference exists and heat transfer occurs only in the direction of decreasing
temperature, meaning from hot object to a cold object.
f. Process Skills: inferring, describing, analyzing
g. Values Integration: teamwork and cooperation
III. PROCEDURE
Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity
A. Preliminary Activities
1. Organization
3. Warm – up
Checking of Attendance
Very good!
Motivation
Yes Ma’am.
Moving on, let’s have a short game. So,
this game is entitled, “Find the Hidden
Word”. You can see on the screen that
there are some jumbled words and I want
you to guess what is the hidden word. Are
you ready?
C. Lesson Proper
Materials Needed:
•2 drinking glasses as containers
•2 big containers (enough to
accommodate the drinking glasses)
•Tap water
•Hot water
Procedure:
1.Label the glass 1 and 2 while the big ice
cream tubs A and B as shown.
2.Half fill containers 1, 2, and A with tap
water while half fill container B with hot
water. Be careful when you pour hot
water into the container.
3.Carefully place the glass 1 inside tub A
in Setup 1. Do the same with glass 2 and
tub B as in Setup 2.
4.After some time, dip your fingers for a
while into glasses 1 and 2 and observe
the relative temperature.
Procedure 1:
1.Prepare a spoon, a small piece of cloth,
a candle, and matches.
2.Light the candle, then with a piece of
cloth, hold a spoon over the flame for
three minutes.
Procedure 3:
1.Make a fire in an open ground.
2.Sit near the fire. Feel your face and
arms.
Okay, you may now start. (Group 1 representative will present their
work)
2. Analysis
Q1: Setup 2
(The teacher will gather the work of the
students and she will check if each group (Students will clap their hands)
got the correct answer)
Let’s begin with the Group 1. (Group 2 representative will present their
work)
Yes, Louise?
Remember: Heat transfers naturally flow
from a body of higher temperature to a
Yes! That’s somehow correct in the sense body of a lower temperature.
that the heat is being transfer from one
body to another. A difference in temperature, Ma’am.
Examples of good conductor are copper, It is the up and down movement of gases
silver, iron, and steel. and liquids caused by heat transfer.
Okay, Georgia?
None Ma’am
4. Application
Anyone? Shekinah?

A. baking in a metal pan in an oven
B. microwaving a food
C. the heat from a fire
D. sun rays
C 6. All of the following are examples of conduction EXCEPT ____.
A. ice cooling down your hand
B. touching a stove and being burned
C. the heat from the sun warming your face

hotness or coldness of an object?
A. Conduction
B. Heat Transfer
C. Radiation
D. Convection
A 8. Why does conduction occur between objects?
A. Objects in contact must have different temperatures.
B. Objects in contact must have the same temperature.
C. Objects not in contact must have different temperatures.
D. Objects not in contact must have the same temperature.
D 9. The tourist suite of passenger ship is air – conditioned, and your mom
wants you to choose between the upper deck and lower deck bed. How
will your knowledge of convection help you decide so that you can
maximize the cool temperature?
A. Warm air goes down; thus, you choose the upper deck bed

V. Assignment
Activity 3: All at Once!Task 1:
Look at each illustration given. It shows situations that involve heat transfer.
Identify three situations found in the illustration that involve the different methods of heat
transfer. Circle the situation in the illustration and label it 1, 2, and 3 with the
corresponding method.
Situations:
1. ____________________
2. ____________________
3. ____________________
Task 2
Note that in your chosen situations, there could be more than one heat transfer
activity taking place at the same time. Let us examine each situation you chose by filling
up Table 1.
