B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson Activity: Race and Show
The class will be divided into 2 groups, they are to line up in Cone A. Each member of the group will race to Cone
B (Other side of the court) and will pick a card containing a specific exercise. The student needs to execute the
exercise for 16 counts before he/she can go back to Cone A and tap the next member to race. The first group to
have all members finish the race wins the activity.

1. The Class will be divided into two groups.
2. Students will record their resting heart rate before doing the activity.
3. Members of each group start from a crouched position with their fingertips just behind the starting line and their
feet propped up.
4. The dash begins after the teacher has announced "on your marks" and "set" and whistles.
-The activity aims to record the resting heart rate and working heart rate of each student after doing a running
activity.
Reading Integration:
After the activity the student will read information about
Resting heart rate, Target Heart Rate, Maximum Heart Rate and Training heart rate
E. Discussing new concepts and Activity: Exercise for Fitness
practicing new skills #2 Students will execute different exercises for 16 seconds each with a 10 seconds interval after every exercise. The
activity aims for students to identify their own Perceived exertion or how hard they think their body is working
during exercise.

Students will be computing for their target heart rate and will complete the table below.
