Exercises 7, 8 and 9 of the text book. If there are 12 questions in Ex. 7, 18 in ex. 8 and 9 in ex. 9,
in how many ways can three questions be selected?

3. From 7 professors and 10 students a committee of 5 is to be formed. In how many ways can this be
done if the committee contains:
a) Exactly 3 professors? b) At least 4 professors?
4. There are 15 boys and 10 girls out of whom a committee of 3 boys and 2 girls is to be formed. Find
the number of ways in which this can be done if:
a. there is no restriction b. a particular boy is included c. a particular girl is excluded
5. The staff of a bank consists of the manager, the deputy manager and 10 other officers. A committee
of 4 is to be selected. Find the number of ways in which this can be done so as to always include: i.

10. There are 10 people in a room. Each shake hand with each other. How many handshakes possible?
