    Week 1 Rounds 1-14
    Pattern Notes
    ◌ The central mandala is worked in tapestry crochet using two colors at the same time. Always change
    to a new color when you still have 2 loops on your hook (to finish the last stitch in the new color).
    Then, after the color change, place previous yarn on top of the crocheted piece and carry the tail
    behind your work and then continue by crocheting over it with the new color.
    ◌ Each round should be joined with the same color as used for the beginning of the round, so before
    joining, always change to the same color as the first stitch of the new round.
    ◌ The first stitch of a round is made in the same stitch as the join.
    ◌ Ch2 at the beginning of a round doesn’t count as a stitch.
    ◌ IMPORTANT! To make sure your gauge doesn’t change throughout the pattern, please check it
    after every few rounds: the mandala must stay flat! Approximate measurements of every part are
    given in the pattern to help you. For an easy check: one row with dc (in tapestry) measures approx.
    1cm/0.39” in height in Our Tribe yarn and 1.115cm/0.44” in Colour Crafter yarn.

    Instructions
    Round 1. Yarn A: Make magic ring, ch2 (doesn’t count as st – here and throughout), 12dc into ring, join
    with ss in first dc after ch2 – 12 sts.

    Round 2. Continue with Yarn A. Ch2, 2dc in each st around, join with ss in first dc after ch2 – 24 sts.

    Round 3. Ch2, *Yarn A: 1dc, 2dc in next st, 1dc;


    Yarn B: 2dc in next st; repeat from* 5 more times, join with ss in first dc after ch2 – 36 sts.

    Round 4. Ch2, *Yarn A: 1dc, 2dc in next st, 2dc;


    Yarn B: 1dc, 2dc in next st; repeat from * 5 more times, join with ss in first dc after ch2 – 48 sts.

    Round 5. Ch2, *Yarn A: 2dc, 2dc in next st, 2dc;


    Yarn B: 2dc, 2dc in next st; repeat from * 5 more times, join with ss in first dc after ch2 – 60 sts.

    Round 6. Note: first 2 dc are made in same st as join!
    Ch2, *Yarn A: 2dc in next st, 4dc, 2dc in next st;
    Yarn B: 4dc; repeat from * 5 more times, join with ss in first dc after ch2 – 72 sts.

    Round 7. Note: first 2 dc are made in same st as join!


    Ch2, *Yarn A: 2dc in next st, 2dc;
    Yarn B: 1dc;
    Yarn A: 1dc in same st;
    Yarn B: 1dc in next st;
    Yarn A: 2dc, 2dc in next st;
    Yarn B: 1dc, dc2tog over next 2 sts (here and throughout), 1dc; repeat from * 5 more times, join with
    ss in first dc after ch2 – 84 sts.

    For Colour Crafter version only: change to Yarn C. Cut Yarn B. For all next rounds, colors for Colour
    Crafter version are given in between brackets.

    Round 8. Ch2, *Yarn A: 4dc;


    Yarn B (C): 2dc in next st;
    Yarn A: 2dc in next st;
    Yarn B (C): 2dc in next st;
    Yarn A: 4dc;
    Yarn B (C): dc2tog, 1dc; repeat from * 5 more times, join with ss in first dc after ch2 – 96 sts.

    Round 9. Ch2, *Yarn A: 4dc;


    Yarn B (C): 2dc in next st, 1dc;
    Yarn A: 1dc, 2dc in next st;
    Yarn B (C): 1dc, 2dc in next st;
    Yarn A: 4dc;
    Yarn B (C): 2dc; repeat from * 5 more times, join with ss in first dc after ch2 – 114 sts.

    Round 10. Ch2, *Yarn A: 4dc;


    Yarn B (C): 2dc in next st, 2dc;
    Yarn A: 1dc, 2dc in next st, 1dc;
    Yarn B (C): 2dc, 2dc in next st;
    Yarn A: 4dc;
    Yarn B (C): dc2tog; repeat from * 5 more times, join with ss in first dc after ch2 – 126 sts.

    Round 11. Note: first 2 dc are made in same st as ss!


    Ss in next st, ch2, *Yarn A: 2dc in next st, 2dc;
    Yarn B (C): 2dc in next st, 3dc;
    Yarn A: 4dc;
    Yarn B (C): 3dc, 2dc in next st;
    Yarn A: 2dc, 2dc in next st, dc3tog over next 3 sts (here and throughout); repeat from * 5 more times,
    join with ss in first dc after ch2 – 138 sts.

    Round 12. Ch2, *Yarn A: 2dc, dc2tog;


    Yarn B (C): 2dc in next st, 3dc, 2dc in next st;
    Yarn A: 4dc;
    Yarn B (C): 2dc in next st, 3dc, 2dc in next st;
    Yarn A: dc2tog, 3dc; repeat from * 5 more times, join with ss in first dc after ch2 – 150 sts.

    Round 13. Ch2, * Yarn A: 1dc, dc2tog;


    Yarn B (C): 2dc in next st, 2dc, 2dc in next st, 3dc;
    Yarn A: 3dc, 2dc in next st;

    For both versions: change to Yarn D. Cut Yarn B (C).
