2) Is the following a quadratic equation? y2 = 5y - 10

3) Write the following equations in the form ax2 + bx + c = 0, then write the values of a, b, c for equation. x2 -
9 = 13

Q.2 A) Complete the following Activities. (Any Two) (4)

1) Solve : x2 + 8x - 48 = 0

By Completing the square.

x2 + 8x - 48 = 0
∴ x2 + 8x + 16 - 16 - 48 = 0
∴ _____2 - 64 = 0
∴ (x + 4)2 = 64
∴ x + 4 = _____ or x + 4 = _____
∴ x = _____ or x = _____
2) Fill in the blanks with correct number

= _____ − 8
= _____
3) If 3x + 5y = 6 and 5x + 3y = 26, find (x-y).

3x + 5y= 6 ... (1)

5x + 3y = 26 ... (2)
_____equation (1) form equation (2).
5x + 3y = 26 ... (2)
3x − 5y = 06 ... (1)
−      +       −
2x  −2y = 20
∴ _____ = 10 ... (Dividing both the side by_____)
