Data-Gathering Procedures

To collect the data needed for the study, the researcher

will undertake the following procedures:

1. Obtaining Gatekeepers’ Approval. For the study to be


conducted, the researcher will seek formal approval from the
Principal of Our Lady of Piat Highschool. After receiving
approval, the researcher will obtain the schedule for the
online administration of the survey questionnaires to the
SHS participants via Google Forms 

2. Securing Participants’ Informed Assent and Consent. Once

approval has been obtained, the researcher will secure the

participants’ informed assent and consent through the

following:

2.1 The title, investigator, rationale, objectives, type of

research, participant selection, voluntary

participation, procedures, duration, risks, benefits,

reimbursements, confidentiality, results sharing, right

to refuse or withdraw, and person to contact will all

be included in the introductory section of the survey

questionnaire.

2.2 Below the aforementioned information, two buttons, one

for Yes and the other for No, will prompt the

participants to decide whether they will agree to

voluntarily participate in the study or not. Clicking

on Yes will signify the participants’ informed assent

(for SHS students. One additional Yes/No buttons will


be provided to secure the SHS students’ parental

consent.

3. Collecting the Data for the Study, after obtaining informed

assent and consent from the participants, the researcher

will collect the essential data through the following

3.1 Qualitative Data. After answering the closed-ended

questions, the participants will: (1) rate their skill

gained or opportunities gained, (2) relate their

account of the experience of the challenges

encountered, and (3) in adjustment done during the

blended learning through survey specifically using

Likert Scale

4. Organizing the Collected Data. The researcher will organize

the qualitative data using Word.

5. Ensuring Data Privacy. The researcher will ensure data

privacy through the following:

5.1 Anonymity and Confidentiality. Participants will have

the choice of revealing their true identities or

remaining anonymous. If they offer any form of

identification, that information, as well as any other

responses, will be handled privately. Any data obtained

from participants will not be given to unauthorized

parties or included in the study.


5.2 Data Access and Security. The data collected will be

accessible only to the researcher, his research

adviser, and his data consultant. The qualitative data

will be saved in Word, password-protected, and saved on

an external hard drive that will be kept privately.

5.3 Data Disposal. After five (5) years, the electronic

data will be totally wiped from the external

hard drive, if deemed appropriate.
