Automated Multilevel car Parking Systems
Automated multi-level car parking systems have become fashionable trendsetters. It is a method
of automatically parking and retrieving cars that typically use a system of pallets & lifts and
signalling devices for retrieval. They have advantages like security, safety, saving of space, time
and fuel (since one does not have to drive around for locating parking space). These can be further
categorised into fully automatic or semi-automatic systems.

With less land available, parking is a growing concern in the Indian context, but there are
various technological options and knowledge base available (automated parking systems, stack
parking systems). Among these, the semi-automated car parking systems (with different
options of stack parking, puzzle parking, etc) are rapidly catching up in demand. These seem to
be easily accepted by Indian consumers since they are easy to install and operate, capital costs
are relatively cheaper than fully automatic parking systems and involve lesser consumption of
electrical energy.

2 level Simple Hydraulic stacker

PARI’s(Precision Automation & Robotics India) 2 level Hydraulic operated simple car parking
system is an semi automatically controlled parking system with ground level car, which was
parked on the pallet, being lifted using hydraulic power pack allowing additional car(Car type
Combination:- Hatchback, Sedan & SUV) can be parked underneath(for details refer Fig 1.0,Fig 2.0
& Fig 3.0 below).

2 level Hydraulic stacker system allows two passenger cars to be parked one above the other. Its
two posts offers flexibility and saves space. Along with a platform (curved at the ends to allow the
car to roll on/roll off conveniently), there is an operating control pendant that is located infront
of each & every hydraulic stacker system. The system allows very fast parking-in and parking-out
time, consumes less(nil during downward direction) electrical energy, provides complete safety
and security of the cars. Not only this, it also reduces air pollution, and needs little maintenance.

Constructional Features:-

The 2 level simple Hydraulic stacker Parking system will be of semi-automatic parking.

Drive In stage:-The driver will drive the car into the empty pallet which is initially placed on the
ground floor, position the car and leave. The empty pallet at ground level will be lifted to one
level above the Ground level, after an operator presses the key(indicated towards UP
position) operated switch situated on operating panel.

Drive out stage:- To retrieve the car, the operator presses the key(indicated towards DOWN
position) operated switch situated on operating panel. After a short period of time loaded pallet
reaches to the ground level. The driver enters the car, removes the car from the stationery pallet
& drives away.

The pallet/ platform are made of steel construction, 1.6 mm Thick Galvanised Corrugated Anti
Skid Type With Wheel Stopper (Anti Rolling) & supporting members by angle or channel. All
Exposed Steel Structural Members and Sheet Metal are Powder coated with 80-90 microns.

The 2 level motorised car parking system will only have a vertical movement of pallets (platform)
& maximum 2 cars(Type:- Hatchback/Sedan/SUV) can easily be accommodated within the
available space. Limit switches, sensors -(Optional) to detect the presence of car on the G floor
and other safety features such as locking levers at every 100 mm distance are provided on two
posts .

Light ray sensors(Optional) shall be provided to detect human presence below the raised pallet.
Well designed PARI’s 2 level hydraulic stacker system ensures that the pallet does not move in
case it detects human presence below the raised pallet and/or any object movement. Any attempt
to move the raised pallet under above circumstances prevent the movement of pallet in
downward direction thus safeguarding the precious men & machine.

An emergency STOP button is be provided in the control panel. Upon activation of the Stop button,
the system shall be electrically cut off.

The whole operation of system is through key operation. The control panel is conveniently located
at the loading/unloading level. The Control panel shall be IP 54 rated.

1.5 KW capacity Hydraulic power pack is connected to 8 systems(Maximum). All wiring will be
neatly laid through troughs and conduits(wherever necessary). Wires will enter through proper
glands. Motors, Control panels and metal components are earthed as per local code requirement.
There will not be any loose wires. All wires will be properly tagged(If required).

A pallet empty or loaded shall only be available at the loading level(Ground level).

AC 415 V, 3 phase, 50 Hz with Neutral & Earthing. On the other hand, For smooth & Hassle free operation
of installed 2 Level Hydraulic type car parking systems, a continuous uninterrupted power supply is to be
made available.
