Hotstar –

Disney+ Both Novi Digital Entertainment, a subsidiary of Disney Star and the Walt Disney
Company's Disney Media and Entertainment Distribution own and operate the game. Disney
Star's Novi Digital Entertainment owns and operates the Indian subscription video-on-demand
over-the-top streaming service Hotstar (previously known as Hotstar).

Earlier this year, Star India established Novi Digital Entertainment Private Limited, a wholly-
owned subsidiary of Hotstar, which was established in January. However, in February 2015, just
in time for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, the star officially launched the website as well as a
mobile application. Approximately 35,000 hours of programming from entertainment, movie,
and sports networks have been added in eight different languages.

It was first known as Hotstar, which was a streaming service that featured material from Disney
Star's local networks and included movies as well as live sports and original programs. HBO,
Showtime, and other third-party material were also available on the service. Hotstar quickly
overtook Netflix as the most popular streaming service in India, because of the rapid spread of
mobile broadband.

Success Story of Hotstar

It can run on up to 7,000 distinct operating systems and has a wide range of display sizes thanks
to its flexible design. More than 78% of India's 152 million internet users use their mobile
phones to access the internet, with an average monthly cost of Rs 235 for a mobile internet
connection, according to a survey. To accommodate a wide range of display sizes, this device
can run on as many as 7,000 different operating systems. With an average monthly fee for a
mobile internet connection of Rs. 235, more than 78% of India's 152 million internet users access
the internet via their mobile phones according to an online poll.
Objectives of Launching Hotstar:
There is a problem with the internet speed in India. As a result, engineers aimed for the platform
to be able to run at speeds as low as 50kbps. So, even on 2G, you can enjoy a high-quality video
experience. The software was designed to function on as many as 7,000 different operating
systems and display sizes, according to the manner it was constructed.

More than 78% of India's 152 million internet users are mobile, and they spend an average of Rs.
235 per month on mobile internet. As a result, it's safe to assume that Star has recognized
Hotstar's potential to be a game-changer. In the next four years, STAR INDIA expects the
platform to contribute between 20 and 25 percent of the company's entire revenue.
