Presentation of a Visa Application can be done in person at the Embassy at Claudio Coello 91
6th floor in Madrid by appointment only.
To make an appointment you must call 91 436 3780 from 09:00 to 16:00 from Monday to
Friday or send an e-mail RE: [email protected] requesting an appointment. When
doing so we need to know the name(s) of the person(s) who are applying and the type of visa(s)
Processing time for permits or visas exceeding 90 days may take up to 3 to 4 weeks.
DHA 1738 form attached, written or typed in BLACK and signed by the applicant.
Original valid passport with 2 blank pages which expires in no less than 30 days after the
expiry of intended date of departure. Keep in mind the visa CANNOT exceed the
passport’s date of validity.
118 Euros the exact amount to be paid in cash at the Embassy. No application will be
accepted without payment and no payment accepted without a complete application.
Please note it is NOT REFUNDABLE if the visa is NOT granted or the application is
cancelled.
Copy of the Transfer of Skills Plan with details of the South African citizen who is going to
benefit from this transfer of skills. His or her identification document and Curriculum
Vitae.
Letter from the South African branch, subsidiary or affiliate in English on the Company’s
letter:
1. Confirming the transfer of the foreign employee;
2. Stating the foreign employee’s name and passport number;
3. Stating the foreign employee’s position and/or capacity in which they will be
employed
4. Stating the duration of her/his employment there;
5. Undertaking that the foreign employee, as well as his/her dependent family
members, will have medical cover for the full duration of the period; and
6. A statement that the company shall undertake to reimburse the Department any
costs incurred in relation to the deportation of the holder of an Intra-Company
transfer work visa and any of her/his dependent family members.
Copy of contract of employment with the company abroad dated at least 6 months prior
to submission and valid for the full time of the requested visa.
“Vida laboral” issued by the Spanish Social Security authorities not older than 3 months
at the time of its submission. Preferably with Id CEA.
Medical Certificate BI 811 form signed by a registered medical practitioner with regards
to the applicant’s general state of health, detailing any medical condition he/she suffers
from, this certificate MUST NOT be older than 3 months at the time of its submission.
Radiological Report BI 806 form signed by a registered medical practitioner. This report
can be NO OLDER than 6 months at the time of its submission. A Mantoux or Tuberculina
test can be done instead of an X-ray of the thorax for this report. This report is NOT
required for pregnant women or children under 12.
Police Clearance Certificate issued by the authorities in each country where the applicant
over 18, resided for 12 months or longer. This certificate shall NOT be OLDER than 3
months at the time of submission.
Travel insurance renewed annually, undertaken by the applicant or the South African
institution, organization or company on behalf of the applicant for the full duration of the
stay.
Copy of yellow fever vaccination certificate if that person travelled or intends travelling
from or transiting through a yellow fever endemic area.
Accommodation by means of:
o Hotel reservations or proof of reservation thereof;
o Copy of rental contract with full address and proof of address by means of a
municipal bill or
o Invitation letter with full address and contact details from the person who will be
hosting you in their private residence together with copy of their pertinent
identification document and copy of a municipal bill as proof of address.
Flight itinerary or proof of reservation. Tickets are NOT to be purchased until visa is
granted.
Copy of Spanish residence in case of non-Spanish citizens that expires in no less than 30
days after the expiry date of intended date of departure.
An Intra-Company transfer work visa shall be issued for a period NOT exceeding 4 years.
PLEASE NOTE: In order to comply with Regulation 2(1) (A) of the Immigration Act of 2014, only
machine readable travel documents (MRTDs) will be accepted on submission of visa
applications and at Port of Entry. Therefore, no extended passports will be accepted.
