Rack / Rail Installation
The FortiAnalyzer-BigData 4500F can be mounted in any standard 4U rack using

the provided hardware. There are 3 steps to mount your device.

A. Secure the rails Warning: To avoid injury, empty the device of all blades, power supplies, switches
and modules before lifting. Install these components after the device is mounted.
B. Slide the device and lock (recommended for 2 or more people)

1. With one person on either side, lift the device and slide it into the installed rails

2. After pushing the device all the way into the rack, use two roundhead screws on
each side of the server to lock it into place
1. Unscrew the release screws on the Left and Right rails and slide apart, making
note of the Front and Rear orientations 3. The device is now secure

2. Position the Left Rails with the template and secure the front with two flathead 4. Re-install the blades, power supplies, switches and modules
screws

3. Then secure the back with two flatheads screws

4. Repeat steps 2 for the Right Rail

Caution: Ensure the hard drives are properly installed prior to rack-mounting.
Electrostatic discharge can damage your equipment. To avoid injury, install
with 2 or more people. Do not place heavy objects on the device. Ensure there
is 1.5in of space around the device to ensure adequate air flow.

To install the SFP transceivers:

1. Slide the SFP into the cage socket until it clicks into place

2. Lift the latch to lock the SFP

Administrator Setup Deployment Setup
To setup an administrator account: Connect your FortiAnalyzer-BigData to your network with the SFP Transceivers on
the External Switch Module (Switch Module #2).
1. Go to System Settings > Admin > Administrator, then click Create New
2. Enter user name and password
The FortiAnalyzer-BigData can run in two operation modes: Analyzer and Collector.
3. Click OK to save the change
The default mode is Analyzer. For more information, see the FortiAnalyzer-BigData
Administration Guide at docs.fortinet.com

2. Click the Unregistered Devices tab in the quick status bar
3. Select the FortiGate device, then click Add

5. Type a device name to assign a new device name

A Configure FortiGate Log Settings

1. Log in to the FortiGate GUI from the management computer


2. Go to Log & Report > Log Settings
3. Turn on Send Logs to FortiAnalyzer/FortiManager
4. Enter the IP address of the FortiAnalyzer-BigData, then click Apply C Test FortiGate Connectivity

FortiView provides users to the ability to view, filter, customize and drill down into Top Threats View list the top threats to your network. Top threats include
different Fortinet summary widgets. applications that pose a risk, intrusion detection, malicious website and malware/
botnets, which are evaluated by application control, IPS, and antivirus engines.
