1. INTRODUCTION
Dear Perspective Student,
Thank you for your interest in our Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Finance (CLEF) of the University of
Bologna. CLEF has a limited number of places available, and admission is based on the assessment of
candidates’ skills. Applying entails a number of steps: please read this document thoroughly to find out how
to take part in the selection, and eventually how to enrol. As we go through the admissions procedure in
detail on this document, important dates and deadlines for every step will be provided. An overview of these
dates and deadlines can be found in the table on par. 12. Please note: all candidates, including transferring
students from other degree programmes (either of the University of Bologna or from other Universities),
will be required to follow the same selection procedure explained in the next pages.
2
2. AVAILABLE POSITIONS:
Should places reserved to non-EU citizens be not fully covered, more positions will be available to EU or EU-
assimilated candidates.
3. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Italian language requirement: Non-Italian candidates enrolling in a degree course taught in Italian at an
Italian University are normally requested to take an Italian language test in order to assess their knowledge
of such language. If you are a non-Italian citizen and you are admitted to CLEF, however, no Italian language
is required and you will be exempted from taking the test, because CLEF is taught in English.
3
3.3 Requirements for candidates with a non-Italian secondary school certificate:
IMPORTANT!! CLEF students are selected according to their test scores (English TOLC-E or SAT). However,
your secondary school leaving certificate must comply with all the requirements below to make you eligible
to enrol in an Italian university. If it does not, even if you apply and are selected, you will not be able to
complete your enrolment!
To be admitted to an Italian Bachelor’s Programme (First-Cycle Degree), as it is CLEF, your school leaving
certificate must meet these requirements:
a) Must be obtained following a period of schooling of at least 12 years (12 years must be the official
length of schooling in a specific education system).
b) It is obtained following a final period of at least 2 years, successfully passed, in a specific school
system.
c) Must allow access, in your own country of reference, to a degree programme similar to Economics
and Finance. If entrance exams are established for university admission in your country (e.g., the
GaoKao in China, the Selectividad in Spain) you must pass such academic tests.
Related to point a)
If your overall schooling period lasts less than 12 years, it is essential that you have fully completed (and
have passed all the required exams for) one of the following:
1. the full first year of university (if you have 11 years of schooling);
2. the full first two years of university (if you have 10 years of schooling);
3. the final qualifications for post-secondary (= Higher Education) studies in a subject related to
Economics and Finance, obtained from a non-university higher education institution;
4. certificates issued by universities stating the successful completion of Foundation Years.
The length in years of such “complementary” courses should be clearly stated in the related academic
qualifications/transcripts and, added up to the years of your previous studies, should make 12.
Related to point b)
If you hold a diploma obtained following a period of less than two years (all successfully passed) in a non-
Italian educational system (i.e. during the mobility abroad at the fourth year of the Italian Secondary School)
you may not be allowed in the degree programme. You may be asked to provide evidence that you actually
attended (successfully) at least 2 years in a given school system, e.g. by means of transcripts.
Related to point c)
This aspect will be clear from the Declaration of Value that you will have to provide (see par. 9)
Important
Special regulations apply to some specific non-Italian qualifications: please check the information by
country at this link: https://tinyurl.com/yfswjwqs
It is essential that you obtain your school leaving diploma title (and all the necessary integrations, if
needed, e.g. APs) no later than 30 December 2022.
4
The official, extended information and guidelines from the Ministry of University for non-Italian school
titles are available at this link: https://www.studiare-in-italia.it/studentistranieri/
4. TRANSFERRING STUDENTS
If you wish to transfer to CLEF from another course of the University of Bologna, or from another Italian or
non-Italian University, or if you wish to transfer to CLEF after having already completed another Bachelor’s
degree, you will have to follow the same admission process, up to enrolment, as all other applicants. Once
you are admitted, if you wish, you can apply for exam recognition. Transfers with recognition of exams are
acceptable only if you have more than 12 years of schooling1. For more information please check this page
and the related links: http://corsi.unibo.it/1Cycle/EconomicsFinance/Pages/transferring-to-clef-from-
another-university.aspx
5. SELECTION CRITERIA
We will assess candidates based on the scores they get in one between SAT General Test or English TOLC-E.
For 2022/23 academic year some admissions rounds (or intakes) are planned. Apart from taking the test,
candidates are requested to register on the Studenti Online portal (SOL) and pay an admission fee. A specific
Admission Board will assess all valid applications and issue admission rankings (see par. 6). In the following
tables, an outline of selection modes with deadlines; below, a more detailed description of each test.
1ST ROUND
❖ WHEN: registration to the selection on SOL from 24th February to 7th April 2022, 1 pm.
1
Only for students with non-Italian secondary school diplomas transferring to CLEF from another University: The
exams passed in the academic year(s) that you need to fulfil the 12 years of schooling requirement cannot be transferred
and used as credits for CLEF. You can ask to transfer previously obtained university credits to CLEF only if your university
years exceed those needed to integrate the 12 years’ requirement. E.g.: if the school system in your country of reference
is one of 11 years, and you have one complete year at university, the exams you passed in that year cannot be transferred
to CLEF and you can only enrol in the first year of the programme.
5
2ND ROUND
❖ WHEN: registration to the selection on SOL from 24th February to 5th May 2022, 1 pm.
3RD ROUND
❖ WHO: EU and EU-assimilated citizens only: 40 places + places left from previous intake (if any)
❖ WHEN: registration to the selection on SOL from 5th May to 20th June 2022, 1 pm.
If places are left available from the 1st and 2nd round, these will be added to the 40 places in the 3rd intake.
Those above are the official intakes. Should any place be still available after the 1st, 2nd and 3rd round of
admissions, the Admission Board might set up the opening of a 4th round, to European and European-
assimilated students only. Theoretical opening: from 5th August to 31st to 2022. NB This 4th intake may or
may not be activated: in the past, it has been activated only once. EU and EU-assimilated candidates are
strongly recommended to apply in the 1st or the 3rd.
5.1 SAT
The SAT is a standardized test used to apply to colleges and universities in the US and in Italy. It assesses your
critical thinking and problem-solving skills in maths, reading and writing. It is managed by College Board: for
information on the test, such as dates, prices, test centres, deadlines and score reports, please check College
Board website www.collegeboard.org. We can accept SAT tests obtained starting from 1st December 2019.
If you decide to take part in the selection through SAT, it is essential that you comply with the following
points:
1. Make sure the personal information you enter in the College Board website when you register match
exactly those you provide on the portal Studenti Online (i.e. first and last name, date of birth format,
ect.)
2. When you register on our Portal (Studenti Online), in the “private email”, field you must provide
the same personal email address that you used at the moment of registration on the College Board
website. Do not change your email address on CB website to make it match with that of Studenti
Online, or we won’t be able to retrieve your score(s).
6
3. You must ask College Board to forward your SAT scores to the University of Bologna, using code
6993. You can do this soon after you take the test or from the College Board website
(https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/sat/scores/sending-scores/how-to-send).
In any case, we will consider only scores arrived to Unibo no later than the following dates:
We will consider the date of arrival, not the date when you requested College Board to send us your scores.
It is important, therefore, to check with College Board the SAT score delivery times. NB. Unibo will check
whether your results have arrived to us only after the above-mentioned dates, not before.
If you have taken more than one SAT General test, starting from 1st February 2019, and have correctly sent
all the scores to Unibo within the deadlines, at CLEF we will consider the test with the highest score.
The CISIA Online Tests (TOLC) are computer-based tests managed by the Consortium of Inter-University
Integrated Access Systems (CISIA). There are different types of TOLC, CLEF accepts that called English TOLC-
E. TOLC-E in Italian will not be accepted- We can accept English TOLC-E obtained starting from 1st December
2019, up to the day when registration for each admission round closes:
If you took, or will take, more than one English TOLC-E test, at CLEF we will consider that with the highest
score. As with the SAT, the University of Bologna does not directly manage TOLC tests. For information,
prices, deadlines, score reports, dates and test centres, please check CISIA website
https://www.CISIAonline.it/area-tematica-english-tolc-economia/home-english-tolc-e/
Unlike the SAT, there is no need to ask CISIA for your scores to be sent: Unibo will directly get them from
CISIA. You may take any English TOLC-E at any University among those in the list
(https://tolc.CISIAonline.it/calendario.php?tolc=economia&date=tutte&lingua=inglese), we will retrieve
your scores anyway. Please make sure the personal information you enter in the CISIA website match
exactly those you provide when you register on SOL to the CLEF selection (i.e. first and last name, date of
birth format, ect.)
In response to the current health emergency, CISIA is providing TOLC@CASA home tests, to allow students
to take TOLCs without leaving their homes. TOLC@CASA tests are provided to individual students through
7
the CISIA platform using tools and technology that allow to create secure and controlled virtual classrooms
in which candidates can be reliably identified and carry out their tests autonomously. Virtual classrooms are
created and managed by universities in collaboration with CISIA. Information and instructions on the
equipment required to take TOLC@CASA tests can be found on the CISIA website.
Apart from registering on CollegeBoard or CISIA Website and take one between SAT general Test or English
TOLC-E, you will have also have to register to the CLEF selection procedure via our portal, Studenti Online.
The dates are those mentioned in par. 6 (“WHEN” in each round), and the steps to follow are these:
a) If you have already a SPID digital identity (for information www.spid.gov.it) this can be used to register
on Studenti Online ("Enter with SPID" button). The system will automatically retrieve the personal data
from SPID database and a personal Unibo account for you will be created
([email protected]).
b) If you do not have a SPID digital identity, you must register on Studenti Online by selecting the "Register"
button and enter your data, at the end the system will create the [email protected]
credentials.
c) If you are a foreign student who does not have an Italian tax code, click on “Register” and then
"International Student Registration" and follow the instructions, until the institutional credentials are
created; after the first access, the application requires you to enter a personal password.
When providing your personal information, remember that these must match exactly those provided on
CISIA or CollegeBoard websites (see par. 5.1 and 5.2)
a) Access the Portal www.studenti.unibo.it. You can switch to the English version from the top left button.
Click on “Admission application – Take part in the selection” > “First cycle degree programme” >
“Economics and finance” > Select the appropriate intake, based on your citizenship (EU, non-EU or non-
EU with EU equivalent status - check this link for info: https://www.unibo.it/en/international/Who-are-
international-students).
b) Indicate how you are choosing to be selected (either with SAT or English-TOLC-E) using the specific drop-
down menu. Please be sure of your choice: after you have made it, you cannot change your mind.
8
c) Pay an application fee of €20,00, non-refundable, exclusively within the deadlines in par. 5. Candidates
who wish to take part in more than one intake for CLEF in the same academic year will have to pay the
application fee only once.
d) Upload the requested ID documents in .pdf format, valid (i.e. not expired), and legible. N.B. such
documents must be all submitted via the Studenti Online application only, and not by email or by post.
If you are a EU-assimilated citizen, please upload a also valid permit of stay, or receipt of
permit of stay renewal application. Please do not upload other documents other than these!
If you have double citizenship, e.g. a European and a non-European citizenship, the European
citizenship prevails, as long as you upload proof of it.
e) Fill in the "statement" field by indicating the score of your chosen test. Remember though that such
score must also arrive to Unibo directly from CollegeBoard (if you chose SAT) or from CISIA (if you chose
English TOLC-E) – see par. 5.1 and 5.2.
If you participate in the selection with SAT and take more than one SAT test from 1st
December 2019 up to the end of your intake, we will consider the highest score that we will
receive from CollegeBoard within the set deadlines.
If you participate in the selection with English TOLC-E and take more than one English TOLC-
E test from 1st December 2019 up to the end of your intake, we will consider the highest
score that we will receive from CISIA within the set deadlines.
In case of discrepancy between the score you declare in the “statement” field and that (or
those) sent to Unibo by CollegeBoard or CISIA, you will be admitted to the selection with the
highest score that we have received.
If CollegeBoard or CISIA do not confirm any score from you, your application will not be
considered, regardless of what you have indicated in the "statement" field.
If you have taken both a SAT and an English TOLC-E test and you would like to know how they
compare and in which you performed best, you may use the following TOLC to SAT
conversion formula:
𝑆𝐶𝑂𝑅𝐸𝑇𝑂𝐿𝐶 + 1
𝑆𝐶𝑂𝑅𝐸𝑆𝐴𝑇 = 400 + 1200 ×
37
Only candidates who have completed the application in all its parts (statement filled, documents uploaded
admission fee paid) within the relevant deadlines will be considered.
9
▪ The .pdf score report you received from CollegeBoard or CISIA, with which you want to take part in the
selection;
▪ Your passport or ID;
▪ Your Italian tax code (if you have it).
7. ADMISSION RANKINGS
All rankings will be issued on our Portal (Studenti Online) by the following deadlines:
Candidates are requested to check results exclusively on Studenti Online: unfortunately, the University of
Bologna cannot notify successful and unsuccessful candidates via email or post.
All scores in the final ranking will be normalized and expressed in points out of 1600, that is, according to
the SAT scale. Therefore, candidates applying with a SAT test will see their SAT score in the ranking;
candidates applying with English TOLC-E will see their TOLC score normalized into the SAT 1600 scale using
the following conversion formula:
𝑆𝐶𝑂𝑅𝐸𝑇𝑂𝐿𝐶 + 1
𝑆𝐶𝑂𝑅𝐸𝑆𝐴𝑇 = 400 + 1200 ×
37
Selection will be based on a ranking of the points attained. In case of a tie, the youngest candidate will prevail.
Admission tests (SAT, English TOLC-E) assess your general knowledge as well as your preparation in some
specific fields. At CLEF it is important to know some basic mathematics, therefore if you do not reach a
10
minimum set threshold for maths (maths only) in your test, you will be assigned with OFA (standing for
Obbligo Formativo Aggiuntivo = “Additional Learning Requirement”) and be asked to do some supplementary
study. This makes sure that Economics and Finance students do not have any pronounced deficits in subjects
that must be thoroughly grasped, due to the very nature of the degree programme. The minimum set
thresholds, for the math sections only, are: 500/800 for SAT and 4.5/13 for English TOLC-E.
9. OPEN POSITIONS
Not all selected students eventually secure their offer at CLEF which is why, after each admission round,
there might still be some seat left available; if that is the case, and if you are still interested in being included
in the programme, there might be another chance for you to join in. To do that, however, remember, that
you have to actively confirm your interest by selecting the appropriate button on Studenti Online - if not,
you will not be picked up!. A list of newly admitted candidates will then be published: if it features your name,
you should enrol as soon as possible.
a) after each admission round the Economics Students Administration Office will publish on Studenti
Online the number of places left available.
b) If you were not marked as “admitted” in the raking, but are “eligible” and still interested in being
part of CLEF, check the detail of your CLEF application to confirm your interest by using the relevant
button.
c) The names of newly admitted candidates are published: these candidates may secure their place by
paying the first instalment of tuition fees.
11
For the 3rd and 4th intake:
a) After each admission round, if you were not marked as “admitted” in the raking, but are “eligible”
and still interested in being part of CLEF, you may directly confirm your interest by using the relevant
button (the number of places left available will not be published).
b) The names of newly admitted candidates are published: these candidates may secure their place by
paying the first instalment of tuition fees
If you have been accepted, congratulations! Now you have to enrol to confirm your place in the programme.
Please note this is different from registering to the selection. The following are the deadlines for paying the
first instalment of tuition fees to secure your place.
Important!
Enrolling includes paying the first instalment of tuition fees + for candidates with international school
certificates, providing specific documents (see par. 11). If you do not have all the required documents ready
by these deadlines you can provide them at a later stage, but in to secure your place at CLEF if is essential
that, within such deadlines, you at least pay the first instalment of tuition fees.
1) Login on www.studenti.unibo.it with your personal username and password or SPID and select
“Registration” > “First-cycle degree programme (new degree system)” > “Economics and Finance”;
2) Insert the requested information and upload a passport-size photo (beware of consequences under art.
496 of Italian Criminal Code regarding false declarations: in such case, you are punishable by law, will be
not enrolled, and will lose any right to benefits or reimbursements);
3) Pay the first instalment – or the total amount – of the CLEF tuition fees. Payment modes other than those
indicated at this link http://www.unibo.it/en/teaching/enrolment-transfer-and-final-
12
examination/tuition-fees-and-exemptions/tuition-fee-payment-methods will not be accepted. Late
payments or deferrals are not allowed.
4) Activate your course of studies, by following the instructions provided on Studenti Online. The deadline
for activating your career in 28th February 2023. After your career is activated, you can print your student
card (called “badge”) by following the indications at this link:
https://www.unibo.it/en/teaching/enrolment-transfer-and-final-examination/the-badge-first-cycle-
single-cycle-degree-and-second-cycle-degree-students
10.2 First ever enrolment in the University of Bologna: extra documents needed
In the following cases, to complete your enrolment and activate your course of studies, you first need to pay
the first instalment of tuition fees and then provide some specific documents to the Economics Students
Administration Office ([email protected]) and/or to the International Students Administration Office
([email protected]):
If you are a student with disabilities, you should provide the documents indicated at this link:
http://www.unibo.it/en/services-and-opportunities/study-grants-and-subsidies/exemptions-and-
incentives/exemptions-for-handicapped-students
If you are a non-EU citizen resident abroad, 1. you should email a copy of your Student Visa (see par.
9.2) to [email protected]. 2. As soon as you arrive in Italy, you must apply for a residence permit
and email a copy of the application receipt to [email protected] 3. As soon as you obtain your
permit of stay, please email a copy of it to [email protected] (you will be considered as
conditionally enrolled until you obtain the permit and email a copy of it).
If you are a non-EU citizen with EU equivalent status you should email a copy of your valid residence
permit to [email protected] or [email protected]. If you have applied for the residence permit
but have not received it yet, it is important that you email at least a copy of the application receipt.
You will be considered as conditionally enrolled, until you obtain the permit and email a copy of it.
If you wish to apply for the recognition of exams from previous academic activities (see par. 4):
please follow the procedure (and hand in the documents) available at this link:
http://www.unibo.it/en/teaching/enrolment-transfer-and-final-examination/recognition-of-
academic-qualifications-and-shortened-programmes-1/shortening-of-the-degree-programme.
Deadline: 24th November 2022.
If you have a non-Italian secondary school certificate you have to upload online scanned copies of
your qualification-related documents (listed in par. 11) no later than 28th February 2023. To do so,
please log on to Studenti Online, select BANDI (“Calls for applications”) and then DOCUMENT
UPLOAD FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS WITH FOREIGN QUALIFICATIONS - BOLOGNA CAMPUS. At
a later stage, when you arrive in Bologna, you will need to make an appointment with the
International Student Administration Office and submit, in person, the original documents related
to your qualification.
13
10.2 Candidates transferring from other Italian Universities:
If you are a student in another Italian University, have passed the selection for CLEF and wish now to enrol:
1) Follow the instructions for CLEF registration at points 1, 2 and 3 as in 10.1 above, specifying (in the
relevant field/box to tick) that you are transferring from another University;
2) Submit a transfer request to your home university;
3) When the dossier from your home university arrives to Unibo, you will be contacted to pay a specific
transfer fee.
Details: http://www.unibo.it/en/teaching/enrolment-transfer-and-final-examination/transferring-to-the-
university-of-bologna/transferring-to-the-university-of-bologna
If you are a student in another degree course of the University of Bologna, have passed the selection for CLEF
and wish now to enrol in CLEF (passaggio di corso):
1) Follow instructions for CLEF registration at points 1, 2 and 3 as in 10.1 above;
2) Fill in the specific transfer request (domanda di passaggio di corso) on Studenti Online, and pay the
transfer fee exclusively from 21st1July to 29th September 2022. You can refer to the following page:
http://www.unibo.it/en/teaching/enrolment-transfer-and-final-examination/changing-study-
programme-within-the-university-of-bologna/changing-study-programme-within-the-university-of-
bologna
If you hold a non-Italian school-leaving certificate, it needs to be legalized, officially translated, validated
and accompanied by a suitable “Declaration of Value” (Dichiarazione di Valore) confirming the eligibility to
enrol in the Degree programme. You can take part in the selection even though you do not have all the
needed documents yet, but if you are eventually admitted to the programme, you will need them at the
moment of enrolling.
LEGALIZATION:
Foreign qualifications have no legal validity in Italy, therefore, in order to guarantee their authenticity, they
must be legalized by the Italian Embassy/Consulate to which your school system refers (e.g. all British
Schools graduates should refer to the Italian Consulate in London). Legalization is not required if the country
where the qualification was obtained is part of the Hague Convention (1961,
https://www.hcch.net/en/states/hcch-members). In this case, legalization is substituted with a so called
“Apostille”, a specific kind of stamp affixed to your documents by the competent authorities, in the place of
legalization. Check the list of the competent authorities for each country here:
https://www.hcch.net/en/instruments/conventions/authorities1/?cid=41. Neither legalization nor the
Apostille are required if your qualification was awarded by an institution in Belgium, Denmark, France, Ireland
14
or Latvia (Brussels Convention 1987), Germany (Rome Convention 1969), or Austria (Vienna Convention
1975).
If you hold an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, you may either legalize/apostille it, or give the
University of Bologna permission to check your results on the International Baccalaureate Organization
website. Students holding AP certificates which are not legalized and without Apostille must request the
transmission of results by the College Board to the University of Bologna (recipient code: 6993). Students
holding a British school title need to provide the legalization, unless they have taken A-levels with Cambridge
Assessment; in this case, they can ask for the scores to be sent to the University of Bologna.
TRANSLATION:
Your final secondary school diploma and all other relevant school documents must be submitted along with
an official translation in Italian. The University of Bologna does not require a translation for diplomas,
certificates and syllabi that are issued in English, French or Spanish. However, if you’re a non-EU citizen
applying for a study visa, some Embassies or Consulates may ask you to have such documents translated into
Italian anyway.
To obtain an official translation, if you are in Italy you can go to a district court (tribunale) and have your
documents translated by a sworn translator, who cannot be the person who holds the qualification or title
(traduzione giurata). If you are not in Italy, please refer to the Embassy/Consulate in your country to
understand how to have your documents officially translated.
DECLARATION OF VALUE:
The Declaration of Value (Dichiarazione di Valore) is an official information document describing the
characteristics of a given qualification obtained within an education system other than the Italian system. It
is used by the competent University offices to assess qualifications for the purposes of qualifications’
recognition and enrolment. It is usually issued by the Italian Embassy/Consulate
a) in the country where the qualification was awarded;
b) in the country related to the school system (which means, for example, that if you are in Kenya and
graduated from a British school in Kenya, you may need to request the DoV to the Italian General
Consulate in London).
Therefore, the Embassy/Consulate where you apply for the visa may or may not be the same that will release
you the DoV.
If your diploma needs to be legalized (see above), the Italian Embassy/Consluate in charge will issue the DoV
only after the qualification has been legalized by the competent authorities in that country.
A declaration of value is NOT required for International Baccalaureate (IB) Diplomas, for Advanced
Placements (APs) and for secondary school diplomas obtained in one of the countries in the European Union,
Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Switzerland, as well as for British school titles. When needed, the
declaration of value can also be substituted by attestations issued by ENIC-NARIC centres that contain all
the information given in the Declaration of Value, which are necessary for the evaluation of the degree.
15
11.1 Useful links:
VISA If you are a non-EU citizen resident abroad, you are required to apply for a student visa at the Italian
Embassy or Consulate in your country of citizenship or residence. Such visa (Visto D: studio/
immatricolazione università) is typically issued after the pre-enrolment procedures have been completed,
and when you have proof of having been admitted to a degree programme.
Read the information about the visa for Italy here http://vistoperitalia.esteri.it/home/en , selecting “study –
university enrolment” as the reason for your stay. Contact the relevant Italian Embassy well in advance and
find out what documents are required. Make an appointment if necessary.
Important: an entry visa for tourism cannot be used to enrol at the university or to obtain a residence permit
for study purposes.
Before leaving, you will need to purchase health insurance in your own country (which must be valid in Italy
and cover illnesses, accidents and maternity). Take the policy documentation with you to the embassy
together with the other documents required for obtaining a visa and make sure that the embassy stamps the
insurance policy to certify its validity. Without the embassy’s stamp, once you arrive in Italy you may be
obliged to purchase another policy, as foreign insurance not validated by the Embassy is not acceptable for
obtaining a residence permit.

PRE-ENROLMENT Admitted non-EU students needs to fill on online pre-enrolment form on the portal
Universitaly. In the application, you must indicate the University of Bologna and choose the degree

forwarded to the Embassy / Consulate you have specified.
RESIDENCE PERMIT aka permit of stay: Once in Italy, all non-EU citizens who hold a valid and correct type

14. TUITION FEES AND BENEFITS
The enrolment fees, net of the first instalment, for the 2022/2023 academic year and information on benefits
and exemptions will be published on the University website on the page
https://www.unibo.it/en/teaching/enrolment-transfer-and-final-examination/tuition-fees-and-exemptions.
On the same page, you can read how tuition fees may be reduced and calculated on the basis of a student’s
household income.
Information on other benefits can be found on the University website on the page
https://www.unibo.it/en/services-and-opportunities/services-and-opportunities . If you are interested in
benefits related to the right to higher education, you can consult the relative call published by the Regional
Authority for the Right to Higher Education on the website www.er-go.it.
If you are already enrolled in a degree course (from Unibo or other Italian university), before transferring you
need to refer to the requirements, related to academic merit, to access grants and exemptions on www.er-
go.it. This is because academic merit is evaluated starting from the year of first registration to University,
regardless of the exams that actually get recognised in the degree course they transfer to.
