Each SLM is composed of different parts. Each part shall guide you
step-by-step as you discover and understand the lesson prepared for you.
In addition to the material in the main text, Notes to the Teacher are
also provided to our facilitators and parents for strategies and reminders on
how they can best help you on your home-based learning.
Please use this module with care. Do not put unnecessary marks on
any part of this SLM. Use a separate sheet of paper in answering the exercises
and tests. And read the instructions carefully before performing each task.
Thank you.
What I Need to Know
1. know the importance of good findings of the study section of your paper
2. relay findings significant to the study
3. present the finding of the study in a relevant way
1
What I Know
Write YES if the statement tells a fact and NO if not. Write your answers on
your notebook.
1. Data presented in tables, charts, graphs, and other figures may be placed
among research text or on a separate page.
2
Lesson
The results section of the research paper is where you report the findings of
your study based upon the information gathered as a result of the
methodology [or methodologies] you applied. The results section should
simply state the findings, without bias or interpretation, and arranged in a
logical sequence. The results section should always be written in the past
tense. A section describing results is particularly necessary if your paper
includes data generated from your own research.
What’s In
For 1-2 sentences, give your ideas about what you have learned from the
following. Write your answers on your notebook.
3
What’s New
Read the following given findings. Answer the following questions given. Write
your answer on your notebook.
The researcher gathered different lessons and pictures from the textbooks of
Elementary (Grades 1 and 2) focusing on the subjects of Mother Tongue, Filipino,
Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao (ESP), and Edukasyong Pantahanan at
Pangkabuhayan (EPP) to be the primary concepts for Photo-Elicitation Method.
11
This method allowed the Aeta key informants to choose among the pictures
representing the most common situations and practices where they use and speak
thein dialect. The proponent observed that most situations emphasize DepEd core
values – Maka-Diyos, Maka-tao, Makakalikasan, at Makabansa.
What is It
The content and layout of the results will be determined by the specific area
of research, the design of the study and its particular methodologies, and the
guidelines of the target journal and its editors. The following steps can be
used to consider in presenting the findings in your study.
Step 1: Organize both summary and synthesis often combined with conceptual
categories. These guidelines will help you create your pertinent literature.
4
• Clarify. Search for the type of sources that you must include in order to
make your findings credible, reliable and legit.
• Make sure that your literature explains why you chose the specific method
for your paper?
• Trace the intellectual progression of the field of your topic.
• Evaluate the sources and advise the most pertinet or relevant.
• Identify the gaps of problems.
Step 2: Design figures and tables to present and illustrate your data.
Step 3: Draft your Results section using the findings and figures you have
organized.
Step 4: Review your draft; edit and revise until it reports results exactly as you
would like to have them reported to your readers.
• Double-check the accuracy and consistency of all the data, as well as all
of the visual elements included.
• Read your draft aloud to catch language errors (grammar, spelling, and
mechanics), awkward phrases, and missing transitions.
• Ensure that your results are presented in the best order to focus on
objectives and prepare readers for interpretations, valuations, and
recommendations in the Discussion section. Look back over the paper’s
Introduction and background while anticipating the Discussion and
5
Conclusion sections to ensure that the presentation of your results is
consistent and effective.
• Consider seeking additional guidance on your paper. Find additional
readers to look over your Results section and see if it can be improved in
any way. Peers, professors, or qualified experts can provide valuable
insights.
What’s More
2. The page length of this section is set by the amount and types of data to
be reported.

What I Have Learned
What I Can Do
Summarize what you have learned thru the findings that you have seen from
the paragraph. Write your answers on your notebook.
The common word formation process used in three domains was affixation which
was used 22 times by the gay teachers, 24 times by gay students and 31 times by
the parlor gays. It was observed that the letter “O” was usually omitted and
replaced by the letter “s” or “es”, “sh”, “etch”. Likewise, most of the time, the
grammatical function of a word did not change when a suffix was added as evident
in the words “ako” to “akes”, “sino” to “sinetch”, “dito” to “dites”. In addition, the
three domains used attaching affixes particularly the prefixes “chene”, “china”
“bro” “ shu” “shi” “kru” “nyo” “ kr” “sho” “bu” and “ku” and suffixes “chi”, “sung”,
“sh”, “etch”, “is”, “mey”, “ey”, “erge”, “ers”, “y”, “s”, “sh”, “I”, “ra”, “es”, “r”, “ing”,
“esh”, “rs”, “china”, “o”, “ness”, “lie”, “e”, “u” “a”,. Moreover,
7
the process of coining a new word usually underwent the process of multiple
processes, clipping, and affixation of words which have phonological resemblance
with its origin such as the words “sampal” to “krumpal”, “nabuntis” to
“nabumtiyaki”. Consequently, borrowing was second in rank, which was used 19
times by gay teachers, 21 times by gay students, and 24 times by the parlor gays.
Assessment
Considering the lesson that you have learned from this module, extract the
findings that the figure shows. Present or enumerate the findings given on
the paragraph. Explain your answers on your notebook.
The linguistics peculiarities of gay were the process of affixation that was always
accompanied by the process of clipping and multiple processes. In addition, as
the words underwent the processes of affixation and omission of the letter “o”,
their grammatical function would usually fall only into three: noun, verb, and
adjective. Likewise, the prefixes “dora”, “ra” and “era'' changed verbs and nouns
into adjective as evident in the following words: from rampa (v) to rampadora (adj);
from kabog (n) to kabogera (adj). Gays also borrowed names of celebrities, titles
of movies and foods, which bear phonological resemblance to the newly formed
words. Finally, internal or total syllabication distortion and substitution of the
letter also observed as their linguistic peculiarities.
