Figure 5 shows a parallel printer connected to the


serial output of the DX4010V2. This type of

5.3 Address DIP Switches

The DX4010V2 serial port is wired as a DTE device.
• If the connected device is a data carrier
equipment (DCE) device (most common, such
as an external modem), use a straight through
9-pin to 9-pin, or (DTE to DCE) 9-pin to 25-pin
cable.
• If the connected device is a DTE device (such 6 7 8 9
as a PC serial port), a null-modem (DTE to 1- DCD 6- DSR
DTE) 9-pin to 9-pin, or null-modem 9-pin to 25- 2- RxD 7- RTS
pin cable is required.

compatible device for wiring requirements.

If you are using an alternate configuration, you
must make a custom cable (refer to Figure 8 and

9.0 USB Data Bus Connector


Uses a standard USB type A→B cable. One cable
is provided with the DX4010V2.
If the computer does not recognize the USB port,
add the drivers located on the supplied disk.

9.1 Installing USB Drivers


Install the drivers.
1. Double-click
CP210x_VCP_Win2K_XP_S2K3.exe.
