Trainee’s comments Trainee’s comments: During this month I learnt the Pick and Pay organizational structure and culture of doing
things a true practical application of concepts I learnt in Organizational Behavior and Human Resources module BM200.Iwas taken
through Installing software on a PC, used a disk image to clone a system practical application of Systems Administration IT201. Opening
up CPU cases troubleshooting and fitting in working RAM chips and power supply units helped me consolidate hardware organization and
roles of internal CPU components covered in Fundamentals of Computer Organization and Architecture module IT103.At first I struggled with
the correct layout and position of components in the CPU even the cloning process I made a few mistakes but I thank the technicians who
were there to correct me and support me during the month

COVID 19. I was taught how to remotely log into computers on the TMSM Network via Remote Desktop using an IP address which is an
application of networking concepts Learnt in Data Communication and Computer Network. Working on tills at Avondale I learnt a lot about
troubleshooting and how hardware components work. I learnt to reset tills, replace RAM chips and power supply units and troubleshooting
before making final fitments. Clearing the workbench and organizing the storeroom is part of the duties of the technicians to maintain a good
working environment & by participating I applied principles of Organizational culture and Behavior.

Engineering. Installed drivers and matched comm ports on server for the scanner as that on the till this follows the concepts learnt in
Introduction to Computers and Computer Applications that hardware components need drivers to communicate with the system .Applied
hardware and software testing a concept learnt in Software Engineering. Used remote desktop to access computers in a different location to
reprogram till terminal so that till be reconnected to database files on the server Models of Databases and Database Designing. Learnt how
to Install printer driver from server, share printer on network and connected to it from other pcs this is an application of concepts learnt in

a network issues covered under Data Communication and Computer Network and Systems Administration. Applied concepts learnt in
Organization and Architecture module IT103 that computers periodically need to be blown to remove dust and software needs to be updated
to keep them efficient. Implemented knowledge learnt in Operating systems. Microsoft Edge treats every tab as a thread whilst in Chrome
each tab is a process. Processes waste memory and slow machines down whilst threads use less and make the computer more efficient.
