Keka Sync Tool Setup

Prerequisites:

1. All the Biometric devices which needs to integrate with Keka should be in LAN.
2. PC should be connected to Internet in which Keka Sync tool is installed.
3. Employees Attendance numbers given in Keka should be same as the attendance numbers that
are present in the Biometric device.

Step 1: Get the IP address of the Biometric devices from your network administrator.
Step 2: Login to Keka with Global admin credentials.
Step 3: Navigate to “Settings “page from Left navigation
Step 4: Navigate to “Time & Attendance” tab from Left navigation

Step 5: Navigate to “Device clocking” tab from Top navigation


Step 6: Navigate to “SYNC TOOL INSTALLATION”

Step 7: Click on “Download Attendance Sync Tool”.


Step 8: Keka Sync Tool will start downloading as shown below.

Step 9: Extract the downloaded zip file and Double click on the extracted exe file

Step 10: Sync Tool will be installed into your PC.


Step 11: Click on “ADD NEW NETWORK INSTALLATION”.

Step 12: Select below highlighted radio button for new installation.

Step 13: Provide installation name and Click on NEXT.


Step 14: On Clicking NEXT API Key will be generated. Copy the API generated and paste it
in a safe place to activate sync tool.
Step 15: Now open Keka Sync Tool and you can see below shown popups.
Step 16: Copy the API generated and paste it in “KEKA Attendance Sync Tool Activation”
window and click activate.

Step 17: Success message will be shown as below.


Step 18: Keka Attendance sync tool will be visible as below screen

Step 19: Click on “Add Device”


Step 20: Select Operation type
Step 20(a). Select “SQL DB Operation” (if you want to use SQL Based
Operation).
SQL Based Operation:

• Enter details of device.


• Click on save button.

Step 20 (a.1): Install SQL Server 2012 or 2014 version with Management studio.

Step 20(a.2): Contact your vendor to Integrate SQL Server with Biometric device software
Step 20 (a.3): Click on Configure Connection String and Provide SERVER NAME and DATABASE
where logs from the devices are stored.

Step 20 (a.4): Click on Test connection and click save (if connection is Success).
Step 20(b): Select Operation type as ‘SDK Operation’ (in case if we have biometric device)
Step 20(b.1): Fill the below details

Step 20(b.2): Enter the details of biometric devices based on your device type and click on “Test
Connection” button.

Device Type to be selected in Keka Sync Tool Works for

Zkem SDK Type ESSL devices and ZICPM Bio devices etc.
Cosec SDK Type Matrix devices.
T52_T60_TFS SDK Type Real time or Bio Time endriod devices like T52, T60 etc.

T12_Api_Sbx SDK Type Real time or Bio Time devices like T12 etc.

FKAttend SDK Type Real time or Bio Time devices like T7, HN36 etc.

FK524PXN SDK Type

(a) For Zkem SDK Type


Note: This configuration can work for ESSL devices and ZICPM Bio devices etc.

Name: Anything of your choice

Device Number: Number assigned to the Device (This can be viewed in biometric device) or Any Number

IP Address: Enter the IP address of biometric device which is collected from your network administrator

Port: This number is usually 4370

Mac Address: No need to enter in this field, this will be generated automatically after clicking on Test
Connection

(b) For Cosec SDK Type


Note: This configuration can work for Matrix devices.

Name: Anything of your choice


Device Number: It should be number assigned to the Device (This can be viewed in biometric device)

IP Address: Enter the IP address of biometric device which is collected from your network administrator

Server IP: IP Address of Cosec server (This can be available with your Network Admin)

API Username: Name of the API user added in Cosec Server

Password: Password of the API user added in Cosec Server

Mac Address: No need to enter in this field, this will be generated automatically after clicking on Test
Connection

(c) For T52_T60_TFS SDK Type


Note: This configuration can work for any real time andriod devices like T52, T60 etc.

Name: Anything of your choice

Device Number: Number assigned to the Device (This can be viewed in biometric device) or Any Number

IP Address: Enter the IP address of biometric device which is collected from your network administrator

Port: This number is usually 5005

Mac Address: No need to enter in this field, this will be generated automatically after clicking on Test
Connection

(d) For T12_Api_Sbx SDK Type


Note: This configuration can work for any real time devices like T12 etc.

Name: Anything of your choice

Device Number: Number assigned to the Device (This can be viewed in biometric device) or Any Number

IP Address: Enter the IP address of biometric device which is collected from your network administrator

Port: This number is usually 5005

Mac Address: No need to enter in this field, this will be generated automatically after clicking on Test
Connection

(e) For FKAttend SDK Type


Note: This configuration can work for any real time devices like T7, HN36 etc.

Name: Anything of your choice

Device Number: Number assigned to the Device (This can be viewed in biometric device) or Any Number
IP Address: Enter the IP address of biometric device which is collected from your network administrator

Port: This number is usually 5005

License Key: Enter 4-digit License key (It comes with device manufacturer).

Sample License Keys: 4335, 1263

Mac Address: No need to enter in this field, this will be generated automatically after clicking on Test
Connection

(f) For FK524PXN SDK Type


Note: This configuration can work for any real time andriod devices like T52, T60 etc.

Name: Anything of your choice

Device Number: Number assigned to the Device (This can be viewed in biometric device) or Any Number

IP Address: Enter the IP address of biometric device which is collected from your network administrator

Port: This number is usually 5005

Mac Address: No need to enter in this field, this will be generated automatically after clicking on Test
Connection

(G) For SecureEye SDK Type


Note: This configuration can work for any real time andriod devices like T52, T60 etc.

Name: Anything of your choice

Device Number: Number assigned to the Device (This can be viewed in biometric device) or Any Number

IP Address: Enter the IP address of biometric device which is collected from your network administrator

Port: This number is usually 5005.

Licence Key: This will be provide with device.

Mac Address: No need to enter in this field, this will be generated automatically after clicking on Test
Connection.
Step 20(c): Select “Log Read Operation” for operation type (in case if you want to sync logs
based on in and out logs).
a. Provide all the valid details.
b. Click on “Configure Log Mapping”.
Step 20(c.1): Provide all the details and Click “Configure Log Mapping”. Below window will be displayed.

a. Enter details of the log file available in your PC for mapping.- Mapping happening
based on index values, so make sure u gave correct index numbers of the fields from
log file.
Example : If Device number is first from the left of your LOG file, in “Log Mapping
Configuration” window it index value should be given as zero.
b. Click Save.
c. Below screen will be displayed.
Step 20(c.2): Click on test connection below window will be displayed
Step 21: Click on “Save”

Step 22: The screen will be shown as below while saving the device
Step 23: Success message will be shown as below after adding a device. Click on “OK”

Step 24: All the added devices will be shown under “Show All Devices” tab
Step 25: Navigate to “Settings” tab

Step 26: Click on “Start Windows Service” if it is not yet started

Note: After the Attendance Sync service is started it will sync the logs from biometric with Keka for every
10 mins

Step 27: To add few more Bio metric devices with Keka Sync Tool
Navigate to “Devices” tab and click on “Add Device” and follow the above steps from Step 28
Step 28: After adding all the biometric devices in Keka Sync tool. Login to Keka account
with Global Admin credentials.
Step 29: Navigate to “Settings “tab from Left navigation
Step 30: Navigate to “Time & Attendance” tab from Left navigation

Step 31: Navigate to “Device clocking” from Top navigation


Step 32: All the biometric devices that are added from Keka sync tool will be shown here.

Step 33: Click on “Manage access area” to create access area

Step 34: Click on “Add Access area” to add a new access area.

Step 35: Enter the name of the Access area and select the radio button as per your
requirement.
Scenario 1:

Device Time stamp Status

If “Yes. Group all the logs of this premise and pair subsequent logs.” Is selected then all the Time stamps
in the above table will sort in ascending order based on Time stamp and will consider the sorted Time
stamps as In and Out alternatively irrespective of the status of the logs received from biometric device.

Scenario 2:

If “No. Don’t pair the logs. Use the punch state of the devices as it is.” Is selected then all the Time
stamps and statuses will be considered as it is which are received from Biometric devices.

Step 36: All the added access areas will be shown as below screen.
Step 47: Click on “Set Access Area” to Integrate access area with Biometric devices

Step 48: Select access area from the dropdown list.


Step 49: Select punch state radio button based on your requirement and repeat the same
step for all biometric devices.
Step 50: Screen will be visible as shown below when all the devices are integrated with
access areas.
Step 51: Upon integrating devices with access areas it may take around 10 minutes to get
the logs from biometric devices and 10 more minutes to calculate attendance summary
and show in employee attendance screen. The time duration may vary based on your
network speed.
